For similar money you can get a Suntour SP12-NCX seat post. The seat angle doesn't change and it's damped so it doesn't bounce. Downside is that it is heavy, but that doesn't really matter on ebikes. I've had the simple sprung posts in the past and they help a bit - the Suntour is much better...

Have a look at the Pendle standard strap-on rack. I have one and it is really sturdy. According to their web site the load rating is 15kg, but that must be per bike as it takes up to three giving a total of 45kg

Had Sams and found them OK, but changing to Kenda Small Block 8s has been an eye opener. Much better grip in all conditions. Downside of them is slightly higher rolling resistance and the whine of the blocks on tarmac.

So did they arrive? and if so, did they come with 44T chainwheels as shown in the original photo? I really need a 48 or 50T chainwheel for my wife's bike, plus a smaller one (39T seems to be the only one easily available) and its all getting a bit expensive if I have to change the 44T one as...

Agreed! I enjoyed seeing your ingenious mod - very clever. All the legal stuff not so much. It has become clear from this thread that only Bosch is squeaky clean - even DfT are accused of acting illegally! Non Bosch owners might as well give up trying to be legal and set the power and speed...

I think you're supposed to throw the tube and start again. Aldi have pre-slimed tubes at £1.99 each at the moment. The box says they have a 2-year life.

Did you order any inner chainrings to go with these, or will I have to source that separately? The only ones I can find are 39T which is a bit big - would prefer something in the 33-35T range if possible. Have decided this is the best way to go for the wife's bike - I'll get my order in to Andy...
