How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I visited a friend yesterday and rode some new trails on the shore line until I hit the end of the trail. It's funny where those big tires take me. And todays morning commute. I know what I'm going to do tonight - clean my bike :-D

    Bosch range indication

I think the range indicator is handy. Over time you learn the range of the bike in different conditions. Which is valuable as conditions have huge impact on battery consumption.

Hardtail build - right track ?

Alfine chain line is 42mm, so it would be really best to move the Alfine sprocket outwards. Somebody must have done it, google Alfine 8 MTB chain line (as I understand BBS02 uses MTB 'standard' chainline of ~50mm).

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I haven't loved the climate this summer, would prefer a bit more sun and warmth. Rather you than me :-D I hear it's pretty bad year mosquito wise (no wonder as it has been so wet), but they are not much of a problem down south at the coast where I live.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Pumped up the fat tires as it was time for a road trip. Round trip to my sister to meet relatives and have a BBQ. Total 115km, 4:44 hours, average speed 24.2km/h. Eco all the way except on a few bigger hills. I've done this on my cyclocross bike a few times, and according to Strava travel time...

    2016 KTM thread

I Haven't seen normal 2016 KTM models so I don't know :-D I don't mean a spaceship look, just that the battery (and motor) is more integrated to the frame. For example have a look at the new Specialized. Looks more traditional bike than KTM e-bikes. Cycling industry is a lot about trends, and...

    2016 KTM thread

Kapoho was very much expected bike and looks a nice one. Seems like for 2016 KTM went the traditional way and just slapped the motor and battery on the frame. Other manufacturers are going more for the integrated style. But maybe KTM has some surprises, we'll see..

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I suspect more head injuries happen on cycle paths and roads due to inexperieced riders and inadequate protection. My worst accident happened on slow speed on cycle path, the front tyre of my cyclocross bike slipped due loose gravel and I hit the road head first. Luckily I was using a helmet...

What is the point of 'fat bikes'

Fat bikes are the ultimate exploration bikes. They go everywhere any time of the year. And with e-assist they do it with ease. So much fun. Yes the 4-5" tyres are an overkill for many situations, slightly slimmer 27+ will be the hottest thing at Eurobike this year.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Look what I found in my neighborhood! A miniature pump track and some small jumps. I knew it existed somewhere but had never run into it. I spent good half an hour there doing things that you can barely call as jumps :-D

Check out Giant Full E 1. I was very tempted by it, 500Wh battery and I guess the Yamaha motor is modified by Giant for even longer range (a bit less assist than the regular Yamaha motors?)

'Congrats on your new purchase. You can never have too many bikes :D I've got an 80s Nishiki Trim Master, when they were still made in Japan. The frame is 60cm, tall and short, perfect for cruising around. The photo is a bit old, the bike has now new wheels and saddle. Sweet bike, I really love...
