do members use there ebikes much at this time of year not work related

Oh yes we have. Of course use common sense if trees start to fall etc. We have crappy weather most of the year, especially at the south coast where I live. But I'm used to it and dress accordingly. Whenever visiting UK during winter I'm astonished how skimpy people dress. And one time in...

There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Another 6" of fresh snow called for a slight detour on my way to work: And 20 meters after taking the photo above I was eating snow. Luckily it wasn't yellow and landing was soft =D

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

And here's my today's ride. We've had really nice winter weather, -8C, no wind, sunny. 35 km, 3 hrs. Snowy singletrack And along ski tracks. KTM power!

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Now this is what I bought my bike for! We got 8" of fresh snow. I just ploughed through snow to work. No way I could have made it with my other bikes. Fantastic :-)

Best bike for super tall guy

I'm usually between sizes L/XL (6'3") and go for the bigger size because smaller bikes are shorter both vertically and horizontally. Sadle goes too high compared to handlebars and it's not that easy to rise handlebars on modern bikes (unless you get some hideous adjustable stem). The numbers I...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Sure. -14 is cold, -22 is freaking cold. Wind plays a big factor though, even a slight breeze will make it so much worse.

Now that temperature has risen to almost warm levels from -22C I could not resist a short ride on frozen sea. Powder snow on ice. Enough traction even without studs. A touring skating track along the shore will be plowed here later. It will be fun!

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

Take a look at the diagram you posted. 650b+ and 650b rims have the same bsd. Plus tires fit the same rims. Although for plus tires wider rims are usually used (30-50mm inner width). It's all about tyre clearance horizontally and verticly (plus tires are wider and taller) . Some 27.5 frames...

1-1-2016 Today's Change in the Law.

I'm writing this from Finnish point of view, but we are both in EU so it might interest you. The new law kicked in here too. Before the new law throttles were not allowed and it was max 250W, the usual EU pedelec law. But now L1e-A allows max 1kW, throttles or whatever (no need to pedal), max...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Another winter ride on Sunday. -8C, not much wind, some snow. Only 20km due to other commitments, but it was sure nice. Even the horses are "enjoying" winter time Not very slippery at all, as there's frozen ground instead of ice under the snow. This would have been all mud and misery. Nice...

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

Yes you can, but they probably won't fit your frame and fork, atleast not 3.0" tires. Maybe look for bigger 2.4" or 2.5" tires (Continental X-King or Trail King 2.4, WTB Breakout 2.5 etc)? They are pretty tall too so they add more volume to the tires. Rims should be wide enough too to handle the...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Finally the weather for was nice enough for a ride. -4C, no wind and some sun, perfect! We got even a tiny bit of snow. Someone had visited during the night. Mud was frozen, which made it sooo much nicer to ride than in the goo we've had for the last month or so. Deeper puddles were not...

Is global warming the con of the century?

Fossil fuel, solar power, nuclear power whatever.. Someone is always going to make money out of energy and I rather spend it on less polluting options.

    Do you swing both ways?

My winter project. Picked up a nice 2nd hand Santa Cruz Heckler frame. What better way to spend dark winter evenings than spend endless hours on the Internet searching for parts. And then actually building the bike.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Not much riding, except for commuting and some errands. It really is the worst of the fall right now, raining all the time and the trails are all mud and water. Where's the winter? I've got these ones waiting: And I've been spending way too much time on the internet looking at full...
