This is mine, you can see the wire exits downwards from the axle. Its not much of an angle but enough to keep water from travelling along the wire into the axle.

Also, its difficult to see but have you got a drip loop on the motor axle input wire? Or at least make sure the wire goes below the height of the axle before it enters.

My OD spokes were black. Maybe they have changed spec.

Any black rim/spoke/hub wheel will be close enough to the OD one it wont notice at more than a few feet. I even added matching stickers to my OD wheel to suit the existing front :)

My Oxydrive rear hub kit works just fine with my Shimano XT 9 speed cassette :)
