    This arrived today :)

No problem Phil here you go. It also provided a suitable place to put my pump which was another problem I needed to sort out so two birds with one stone and all that!

    This arrived today :)

Thanks for that link! Ordered one up and already have it nicely fitted to my bike. Really simple elegant solution. I had spent a while wondering how I was going to get my bottle back on the bike as my oxy battery takes up most of my frame triangle. Oh and I also have an NCX seatpost, really...

I take your point Neal, and its probably easier once you get used to it but I have gone another route now and bought a waterproof handlebar mount case for my mobile phone which I will run the Urban Biker app on. It give loads of great info, overlaid onto google maps so it suits my uses well. I...

In that case, its an irritating (for me) quirk of the oxy kit which could so easily have been sorted with a simple bit of programming. The fact that theres already a mph conversion log going on within the LCD makes its even more bizarre that they didnt pair it to the km reading. The thing I have...

Nealh, is that after you have set your speed to mph? If the kit reads distance in km even after switching to mph then my recorded 27 would equate to about 17 miles and I am pretty sure I did more than that but I could be wrong, it was a twisty oddball country lane route I have never done before...

Ok quick question: I can change the speed to read mph but the trip and odo still show km??

Thanks guys, and probably appropriate to extend that for all your help with my Oxy kit :) Yes d8veh the Shimano combined jobbies are a bit of an oddity. Some hate the things but I find them very neat and compact. They do however give their own problems sometimes such as my switch fitment and...

I soon realised that the stock reed switch needs the magnet AWAY from the switch to allow power. I ended up mounting the switch underneath my lever and found a suitable place to mount the magnet which brings it close when the brake is applied. Quite happy as the location is nice and discreet...

Finished my installation today. I ended up using a hole cutter in the OD mag disc rather than going with the 4 magnets in the small chainring bolt solution. I figured the 12 magnets in the disc would work better than 4. I found that the disc didn't even need extra fixing to the chainring- the...

Fair point that, but myself coming from 25 years of riding motorbikes and 5 years of jetskis I instinctively associate a throttle with my right hand!

    Oxydrive kits

The throttle cant really go under the lever as the combined shifter is relatively bulky and so the throttle has to be rotated to such an angle that the thumb piece ends up pointing to the sky. It might look a bit neater but not nearly as practical. I wanted the LCD to be near my hand so it was...

Got a few jobs done last night. Found that the supporting legs on the back of my Shimano XT 9 speed cassette were fouling on the motor casing. It couldnt be spaced out away from the hub because then the 9th ring and lock ring would not sit fully home. Just had to dremmel the legs a couple of mm...

    Oxydrive kits

Nealh, thanks for those pics. Looks like the small chainring was swopped out with the disc which was then bolted in place. Nice and neat I like that :) I find it a bit concerning that there are inconsistancies with the parts supplied in Oxydrive kits, especially ones that were bought on the...

Oh and this is the back of the current OD PAS:

    Oxydrive kits

Cheers baldy got that now. Although I will still need to play with the screw holes as they are not on the central axis. I may even use double sided tape as its not exactly under stress or saying that I may just do away with the OD bracket altogether and rig something else up. I am guessing that...

Just checked the disc and all the magnets have the same orientation of poles so whichever side of the crank it goes, the 'working side' *must* face the sensor. What I dont get, is how does the sensor know if the crank is spinning forwards or backwards? And I have heard of people 'turning around'...

    Oxydrive kits

Guys I have the below disc and PAS in my kit. Does it matter which direction the disc spins through the PAS? Or will I need the turn the disc round if fitted to the drive side? Will the poles then be the wrong way round? Should I just shut up and try it both ways?!

Sorry, still mixing up my sensor descriptions.... I of course meant the reed switch for the cutoff...

Had 5 minutes spare so cut and re-soldered the PAS so I could remove the pipe nut fitting. Of course this isnt necessary but it neither was it a lot of effort. Also removed the magnet from the Tectro lever with 10 seconds of evenly applied heat from a hot air fitting on a gas soldering iron...
