    My first crisis.....!

You do need to be careful with disc bolts on all motors. Every disc bolt I have come across is far longer than the ones which were supplied with my oxydrive kit which is why I have kept using them despite getting shiny new ones with the couple of new discs I have bought. My concern is that you...

    Bosch make a DD hub-motor

I agree bud, but at what price..? Go into anything even approaching 'motorbike' territory and the price of electric alternatives rockets exponentially. Unless I have missed something, as the tech is advancing just as quickly. In any event, whilst the SOCO is relatively cheap for a 'moped', I...

    Bosch make a DD hub-motor

I did some maths some time back re electric scooters/mopeds. It was still better to buy a brand new Honda CBR125 (which is frugal by any standards) and have something which can be used anytime and still do 70mph when you need it to. Granted, you may have to consider the relevant licence but the...

    Skidding on leaves

Thats because Finnish drivers and riders know how to handle vehicles. Their control is 1000x better than in the UK where even the slighest bit of damp brings an onslaught of crashes due to idiots not having the slighest clue how to read the surface they are driving on. Most surface hazards are...

    Equifax

I use curtains because I often walk around in my birthday suit, especially in summer. Whilst relatively comfortable with oneself, it’s far from the image I wish to project into the minds of passing individuals, particularly juveniles. As regards to chips, I am 100% for it in principle as I am...

Riese and Muller Delite GX Rohloff running costs

Wowsers. £6840 (with Fox shock option which I would reccomend) is a lot of moolah for a bike. I knew R&M were top end but crikey. I would second what has been said...running costs are insignificant with a bike of such high initial outlay. If you can afford it, go for it...it would be a...

    I see your cheating then!

As regards to the 'acceptance' of eMTBs by rufty tufty hardcore MTBers, I was staggered to see how many electrified bikes there were whilst I was in Morzine this summer. If there was any place which would create such a divide then I imagined it would be there, but this did not appear to be the...

lacing a motor hub, spokes and watch outs

If you want a black motor, spokes and rim, have you considered buying a wheel from UK based Oxygen, as was supplied in the kit I fitted?

    Cycling Undercrackers

I hold you solely responsible for the ejection of coffee that ended up on my screen when I read the above. Priceless. As for undercrackers, the padded lycra stuff is the only real option I have found that works but as you realise, you dont really want to be walking around in them. Not unless...

    Grenfell Tower

Tripe. You have the gall to condemn the very people who strive tirelessley to keep you safe at night, and you would be the first one to call three 9's if you were woken by a shadow in a balaclava next to your bed at 3am. Yet you sit in your ivory tower, and old and bitter human being and see...

    Grenfell Tower

I believe the numbers are concerning you because you (and many others) are grossly underestimating the amount of illegals that were resident, the problem being that by their very definition they don't exist. I have no doubt that there were possibly hundreds more fatalities, but demanding to know...

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

Not having a throttle would be a deal breaker for me. I use mine a lot, if only to take a break from pedalling whilst maintaining the same speed. Its also handy if I want to get something out of my pocket (vape for example) or as has been mentioned, when filtering through traffic as unlike when...

Options for transporting ebike by car

Not sure where you are, but I have a very good condition Thule 9503 which I was going to put up for sale soon. Brilliant rack, I am only selling because as my daughter has grown a little and got a bigger bike I needed to get a 4 bike rack (we used to put her first bike in the boot!).

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Jesus you've got some front coming out with a line like that as a spokesman for a commercial enterprise. Highly unprofessional, whether you like him or not. And I hope you can provide proof for your veiled threat of him being a liar. Thanks for the heads up though, if I was ever going to use...

    Oxydrive kits

If you want it on the drive side (neater and more stealth) then look back through this thread and you will see pics of how I did mine. Pretty much as Nealh said really. I have had to do mine twice - the first was easier as I had a hardtail frame. The second time I couldnt use the stock silver...

Battery voltage help - not charging

Many thanks for all your help guys, I managed to get up to 3.6v on the bad cells, saw a total output of 37.2v and rebuilt the battery which is now charging on the stock charger. It is clear that the initial 31.8v was much too low to allow charging. All being well, what I am left with should be...

Battery voltage help - not charging

Hi D8ve Ah yes Insat I remember now. No6 was left on overnight but still didnt hit more than 3.6v. Nuts. Looks like I will be contacting Insat very soon. Shame because I dont need much capacity from the wifes battery (she could probably get away with 7a) but it does obviously have to be working...

Battery voltage help - not charging

Hi Neal, you are correct there is a black packing foam spacer on top of 2 cells, the BMS is on top of another 2. So left to right there is 3 cells, 3 cells, 2 cells + 1 spacer on top then 2 cells + BMS on top. There are definatley 10 cells of (I guess) 1A each. As an update, the 6th cell still...
