    SD Card Anonmoly

Is this a card that you know for a fact that held 60+gb previously? I only ask because counterfeit cards will nearly always show the stated capacity when inserted, but never do actually hold that much and what memory you can actually use is often corrupted. The only way to know for sure what a...

    Stratospheric prices

Nowt wrong with buying Rolexes as 'toys' or even as a hobby if you are into watches as I am. I bought a used, mint ceramic Submariner 6 years ago for 6k and its not worth much less now, if at all. I also have my fathers Submariner from 1971 which he doesnt remember what he paid for it but said...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

Great thread guys, thanks for the info, I wasnt aware of this potential issue. I have just ordered 2 of the caps mentioned (£2.89 delivered on the bay) and will fit them into my Oxydrive 2A charger for peace of mind.

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

Is the guy in the advertising pic doing an endo because the entire kit is weighed over the font axle? :) Only kidding, seems a fairly reasonable concept for simple, light use.

    For all you sailors

I hear you on the envelope ideal for cats, but low wind isnt a problem for me nowadays, I dont mind crawling around. What I dont want is a handful, anything else is fine. I am past wanting to go everywhere with my heart in my mouth! In fact, the only real concern I have with a cat is the wind...

    9-Speed Freewheel

Thanks I didnt know that most motor hubs were threaded! I havent seen the thread of a rear hub since my BMX days over 30 years ago. I assumed that everything other than single speed would be splined nowadays.

    For all you sailors

Oops must have submitted that early by mistake... Wanted to get out of wetsuits and into some comfort. The Omega could actually get a good lick on with the assymetric kite and someone hanging off the trapeze so it was fun but it was quite a big dinghy and the family wanted some creature...

    For all you sailors

Been sailing for many years too, starting out racing Cadets at 10 years old, during which the old man bought a Shearwater at which, although an old slug nowadays, scared the life out of me at when up at 45 degrees, then moved up to racing Lasers for some 10 years, the beginning of which a mate...

    9-Speed Freewheel

I'm a bit grey over the whole freewheel vs cassette thing, having only had experience with cassettes when it comes to anything over 5 or 6 speed (as found on bargain basement mtbs for example). Can you explain why someone would buy a 9sp freewheel over a 9sp cassette? There must be a reason for...

Returning my ebike to Decathlon tonight and here's why

I think you are quite odd. As for comprehension, I am not sure where your bile regarding racism came from.

Returning my ebike to Decathlon tonight and here's why

Ah I see, the fact that they are a 'multinational corporate giant with >1000 outlets across the globe' makes all the difference to ones conscience. As for 'rantings', I think you will find I have ranted far less than yourself, snowflake. Love, Grandad.

Returning my ebike to Decathlon tonight and here's why

Decathlon made their decision purely to shut the customer up, nothing more. They had no legal obligation to issue a refund, it would never had got through a small claims court and Decathlon simply aquiesced to the increasing number of serial expectants that we get these days. As has been...

    Tesla rubbish

Theres nothing in law that distinguishes between 'swing hinged pocket knife that locks' and 'stanley knife'. The definition in legislation is 'locking blade' and clearly that covers stanley knives. Using one in the course of ones business is fine (and lawful), but unless you can convince the...

    giant full e

I had elliptical chainrings many years ago on an old Marin MTB. They worked brilliantly IMO but they seemed to disappear from the face of the earth and I havent had a bike with them since. I assumed it was because they were a pointless fad but having seen them mentioned a few times recently I do...

    TSDZ2 vs HAIBIKE XDuro NDuro

Again, not to be pedantic but it’s the other way round. Power is derived from torque (using a time multiplier). Which is why stating something is ‘high torque’ is worthless without giving it a time constant (rpm for example). My old car made 650lb/ft which would be considered well up there in...

    TSDZ2 vs HAIBIKE XDuro NDuro

Without wishing to sound pedantic, power IS torque, the only difference being an added ‘time’ factor. In the example above, less torque would actually be preferable to prevent wheelspin, unless it could be effectively controlled. Something which is quite difficult with ebike motors which...

    giant full e

I have never used the lockouts on my bike on the road. Unless you are pedalling out of the seat (unlikely on an ebike) there shouldn’t be any squat no matter how hard you pedal. Depends on the design of the system I guess, but on Giant bikes there’s zero bob.

    The new best headlight

So impressed with the 1st one I bought, a month later I got another two. Three months further on (now being confident that they are a sound product) I got another one so 4 in total now for the families bikes. I would buy another in a heartbeat. You just dont get better for this price (nor in...

Crossed posts with d8veh...he's the man...looks like you should be ok given that its just a flange behind the bolts and not some wiring/gears etc.
