Ebike dropped from 3 speed to 2 speed..?

Thanks for you help, on my LED controller there are actually 6 wires although two have never been used (a brown and yellow) which I think may be for a front light trigger. The other 4 are black, green, red, blue. I have probed the green wire at the FET box and saw the following with the system...

Ebike dropped from 3 speed to 2 speed..?

Well to add to my recent bike theft woes Mrs P has just told me that her bike was 'playing up' over the last week, particularly around speed settings. This is on a fairly old cheap Chinese kit 36v using a Bafang front motor, rear rack battery/controller combo and 3 speed '790' handlebar...

Stolen - 2x Giant Trance from campsite in Isle of Wight

Cheers, but I didn't have time to make any local enquiries, it happened on our last night and we are now back in Essex. I did scan the cars on the way home but didn't see anything apart from a used farm 4x4 quadbike on the back of a Hilux which I thought looked a bit sus tbh.

Stolen - 2x Giant Trance from campsite in Isle of Wight

Hello guys, been a while since I posted but thought I would put this up here - we are desperate at the moment so thought it wouldn't hurt. From the Orchards Campsite in Isle of Wight. All 4 of the family bikes were locked with 2x cable combination locks and a third steel cable extender running...

    Oxydrive kits

Cheers yes the motor connector has always been in up to the line. Shame cos that would have been a simple fix! The controller was mounted really carefully, I am always mindful of pulling on any wires. All the plugs inside were fully home too when I took the cover off the other day. There isnt...

Yep all connectors must have been checked 10 times by now, all are fully pushed home and pins are in excellent order.

    Oxydrive kits

Cheers but this was happening at around 10 to 15mph at a fairly decent cadence. And speed is read off the motor not the crank. Interesting to hear you had the same issue with speed display though...

    Oxydrive kits

Thanks for the reply. When you say drop the power are you referring to the 3 power settings which are accessed by the menu, or do you actually mean the 6 speed settings accessed directly from the home screen? I have always had my power on setting 3 as it gives me access to the highest speed...

    Oxydrive kits

Holy thread resurrection! Hi all, been away for some time, have gotten heavily into electric unicycles for my sins and havent been on the bike at all, but went out on it the other day and this problem persists. I do however have a little more info now. If anyone has any suggestions it would be...

A Question about Rats and Air Guns

My AA S400, complete with skeleton stock as I am cack-handed. I too use the Rowan mag mod, very handy. Scope is Leaper, which although not as crisp as say a Bushnell, is still very good and all I need for pigeon headshots.

A Question about Rats and Air Guns

I can vouch for the AirArms S series as well. I have a .22 one and it is incredibly accurate, quiet (the silencer does actually work very well) and zero recoil being a PCP. It has kept me fed with many a pigeon breast. I cant remember what scope I have of the top of my head but it has more...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

Thanks cyclebuddy. I will see if I can find a 63v 330uf to replace the single 50v 330uf. I am not sure if it gets hot, tbh I am not around either charger when they are working as they are always down the shed. Another reason why I wasnt fussed about drilling holes in mine, no one is likely to go...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

Hi Cyclebuddy, given the capacitor upgrade to my charger, it got me thinking about the wifes one which is a Heng Guang Power 36v 1.6a. I thought it would be similar to mine but on opening it up I found it was quite different, with only one of the smaller caps which is a 50v 330uF (less than the...

Who was asking about shaft drives?

I am not convinced that directing torque through 90 degrees (twice) is any more efficient than a well maintained roller chain. And it is unlikely to be lighter when you factor in the additional weight (strengthening) needed to deal with sideways thrust loads. You only have to look into why all...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

Completed the Heath Robinson treatment today. I thought that some ventilation might help, so out came the 10mm drillbit, 48 and 40mm hole cutters. I hot glued some old mesh I had lying around on top to prevent prying fingers/large debris falling in. I contemplated putting mesh on the bottom as...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

Hi Graham, no I hadnt gone as far as additional cooling, and I am not keen on the hassle of removing the lid every time I charge, nor having to run a fan if I am honest. My charger gets chucked in a box with 3000 other chargers as well, so I cant leave it exposed permanently. I am considering...

Will bike shop set up suspension?

Wow SW that looks suspiciously like an Akai sampler in the rack...not seen one for years. I still have my expanded s950 in the loft but the Atari (and cubase) went many years ago . Good days :(

    Bosch cx or Yamaha pw

I still use triple so I must be really old haha! I find I use them all as well, mainly because I have one bike to do everything. I am often on the biggest ring (and mine is a 48t) when road riding with full assist, I use the 2nd ring for trails and use the granny ring for some of the stuff in...

    Battery Charger Fun - Sans 42volt 2amp

All done, thanks again to all. To get a better fit I just offset the legs using some needle nose pliers. 10 minute job in all. Hopefully my charger is less likely to go kaput now. Few pics: standard caps, offset legs on caps and new caps fitted:

    Stratospheric prices

SW..aware of the replicas.... I had many, inc Rolexes before going gen. They are ideal to see if you get on with a certain watch before buying a gen version. They are indeed excellent, with Swiss movements as you say and are indistiguishable from the gen at anything more than 2 feet away. They...
