    Kalkhoff vs KTM

On our sPedelecs we fit different brakes... the ones we use are designed specifically for the 45kph bikes. The levers are more like motorbike levers... 4 finger braking with balls on the end. These ones...

    Kalkhoff vs KTM

yes, but thats what I'm saying. Have a look at an sPedelec, and look at a normal eBike. There is differences other than just the cut off speed. The brands have to build the bikes with the extra speed and load in mind. The difference between a normal eBike and an sPedelec isn't just cut off...

    Kalkhoff vs KTM

The 250w and 350w are the same motors and they produce the same power... its just that when its in an sPedelec the speed limit is increased from 25kph to 45kph, which means the useable nominal power essentially increases from 250w to 350w even though the motor is the same and the power being...

    Kalkhoff vs KTM

No... there is lots of things that make an eBike an sPedelec and its not just software.

    Kalkhoff vs KTM

Thanks Dave.... and I agree we'd love to sell them over here. But can we just clarify, that if you buy this bike from Germany and use it in the UK. You will be riding an illegal moped on the roads, without tax, insurance or MOT, and you won't be wearing the legally required helmet. There is...

    Kalkhoff vs KTM

Yes, we make a few sPedelecs. http://www.ktm-bikes.at/en/bikes/e-bike.html They are the top 3 bikes on this page... and the ones with "45" in the title. However we have never sold one in the UK, because we value our access rights to the places ebikes are currently allowed and we strongly...

Kalkhoff Endeavour S11 Premium, how to register

Flecc is totally correct. There is no way you can use an sPedelec legally in the UK. Anyone that sells you an sPelelec and tells you you can register it, or that it can be used offroad etc etc... is lying to you.

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

Just to add, we've been playing with 650b, 650b+ and 29er frames quite a bit in the office to work out what works with what. 650b+ frame is ideal because you can run all 3 wheel sets in it depending on your mood, needs and the conditions.

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

Thats what I mean... just because the inner BSD of the wheel is the same, doesnot mean the size of the wheel (when the tyre is on) will be the same. Its not just about the width of the tread... the wheel has the same external diameter as a 29er. So it won't fit.

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

No no no, you can't. Its not just about the width of the tread. 650b and 650b+ are not the same size wheels!!

    650b+ tyres on a 650b rim??

Lots of good discussion here, but in answer to your question. No you can't put 650b+ tyres on 650b wheels. http://www.mbr.co.uk/how-to-2/tech-advice/complete-guide-to-wheelsizes-26in-650b-650b-29in-29in-327096

One of the reasons that I don't buy cycle related magazines.

I know Jake (who wrote that for MBUK) and Dan from Cube pretty well. Jake uses the uplift services at FOD to get to the top of the hill regularly, so I'll be sure to ask him about cheating next time I see him. Whilst Dan from Cube is one of the most passionate people I've spoken to in the...

Ebike to keep up with fast group

the 350w and 250w motors are identical... its only the fact that the speed restriction is removed from the 250w that changes it into the 350w. So in answer to the question you've not asked really, yes you will find all 250w motors are as efficient and good quality as the 350w motors. The...

Ebike to keep up with fast group

You do realise sPedelecs are totally illegal for use on the public roads, there is no way any legitimate cycling club will allow you to ride with them on one. So the only way you'll do it, is if you lie about what you're riding. The chances of being involved in an incident are always low, but...

Ebike to keep up with fast group

Brian Robinson, is probably the guy you're talking about. He's from Huddersfield and regularly rides with the clubs round here. He has an eBike, its a mountain bike style and he is a big part of the cycling scene around here. We're hopefully going to get him on a new KTM because his current...

Ebike to keep up with fast group

I've ridden with road clubs all over the UK and one thing I can assure the OP of is that... eBikes are frowned upon, by most cycling clubs. Turning up on an illegal de restricted one is bound to cause them even more issues. Attempting to ride with any club on an illegal eBike that won't be...

    KTM e-Race 48v Bionx - fancy one??

Ok, yes Fusion are no longer trading.. Please private message me and we'll try and sort it for you. Bionx and indeed most brands don't like dealing with the public direct - because they don't sell to the public. Its always best going though a dealer if you can. However we'll help in this...

    KTM e-Race 48v Bionx - fancy one??

Where did you buy it from? I only ask, because no ones contacted us about trying to get the battery sorted under warranty, or a deal on a replacement cost one to help you out.

buying a ebike battery from germany do i pay vat/tax

You're confusing the issue. You do pay VAT!! Its just included in the price that's advertised. So doesn't need to be added by the couriers / import agents as it is with imports from outside the EU. If you're a business trader (with a VAT number) and buying from within the EU, you can actually...
