    More Tyre Worry

I bought a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26" x 1.5" tyre's a couple of months back, there is a knack to fitting them, but I had no problems at all, and they were on in a matter of minutes, no tools required, just a couple of toe straps to help finish of the final bit. Great tyre's and they do...

Anyone ever towed a trailer with either NuVinci or Rolfoff hub

Can't comment on the Nuvinci, although a friend who has both Rohloff and Nuvinci prefers the Roholoff. I have been riding my Rohloff bike, for 14 years, and it just gets better with each year, the Rohloff Hub cost me £500 new back in 2004. Just replaced my Gear Cables for the second time...

    Looking for a new e-bike

My Son (31) is a Bike Tech at Halfords, and is trying to find out about the Boardman Crank Drive ebike that they will be doing soon, although all that he has found out so far is that it is happening, details are less than scant at the moment. Will post as when I hear more.

    Tyres

I am not an ebike rider just yet, but like to get out on my regular pedal bike as often as I can, mostly tarmac trails and canal towpaths etc, and just a bit of road to get to and from the rides. Been using 26" x 1.3" Verdestien "S" Licks, they have very little in the way of puncture...

Hybrid Tyres, Will Slicks Make A Difference

Not got an ebike yet, but plan to soon, as for my regular bike, I have been running Continental Sport Contact 2, great tyre 26" X 1.6" which were on Halfords clearance last year at £1 each! Anyway time for a change now and have ordered a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus (Road Tread) 26" x 1.5"...

    Bikes with Rohloff.

Haibike used to offer a model with the Rohloff, as for the R&M Charger GX that has to be the best a Rohloff equipped ebike around at the moment, nice to see that R&M have done the job properly by using Sliding Drop-Out instead of a chain tensioner. I have been riding my Rohloff equipped none...

    Hub gears for my bike

As mac user mentions, the Rohloff oil does cost, as you need both Rinsing Oil and Hub oil. I bought two of 1lt Rinsing oil tins and one of the 1lt Hub oil tins, total cost back in 2004 was £50 and will in theory give 40 years worth of oil changes for the Rohloff, only done 11 oil changes so...

    Hub gears for my bike

Everyone I know that has gone for a Rohloff, be it MTB XC, or Touring, have all said to a man, and woman for that matter, that they would never go back to the antiquaties of the Derailleur. Fact is the derailleur set up keeps the business rolling in for the bike repair shops, the system is so...

    Hub gears for my bike

Yep flecc, I forgot all bout the SRAM DualDrive, in fact my Son who is a bike tech, mentioned that they had just taken delivery of a new F/S Haibike Ebike for display in the showroom, and that had the SRAM DualDrive set up. To be fair though such a set up, is still a compromise, worst of both...

    Hub gears for my bike

The problem with derailleur gears apart from the fact that they are so last century, is that on an Ebike with CD Drive is that you are never going to get the same gear range as what a triple Chain set and 9 Speed cassette provides. This is were the Rohloff comes in and solves the issue. I have...

    Which bike ?

Have a look at the Bafang Max Drive ebike's, step through models seem sparse at the moment. Just my personal opinion, but I prefer the Crank Drive motors, to Hub motors. Main reason for me is that a IGH is better suited to Crank Drive ebike, as I don't do derailleur's.

    French State subsidises eBikes

What a brilliant idea, I wonder if it has come from the EU or just a French initiative. From what I can tell the subsidy is based on 20% of the Ebikes value, capped at 200€ which is a nice discount on a 2000€ ebike if taken to the max or beyond. Of course if such a subsidy was introduced into...

    Is an ebike for me?

Well done Woosh, that made me laugh, although I did think that you may be adding Bafang Max Drive bikes to your range?

    400 vs 500 Battery?

As some one once said to me "What Will Do More Will Do Less".

    Is an ebike for me?

Welcome aboard DBrown67. Firstly security is an issue with any bike not just Ebikes, as they are so very easy to nick, and I would say ebike's are even more coveted by thieves. On the Manchester campus they have what looks to be secure enclosed parking for bikes, although unless manned I would...

    TESLA MODEL S BATTERY TEARDOWN

Fantastic build quality on those Tesla battery packs, although they are hard to tame as a single unit. Check out this weeks episode of EVTV.ME for more of the same.

    My bum hurts

Got my Brooks Swift Ti saddle back in 2004, superb it has to be said, although I don't have an ebike, that saddle has got me from Manchester to Scotland on a number of occasions. If I was ever to get a new saddle, and that is doubtful, it would be a similiar design, but from Gilles Berthoud...

    Another new mid drive.

Woosh your bikes are good value, but the CD models do look like a diy lash up, and I am sure you will drop the range as when more Bafang Max Drive models come along. Nealth, I could not agree with you more, it's just going to take a bit of time for a std CD mount interface to come about, in...

    Another new mid drive.

Yep, you can see were this market is going. All you need is a host frame, and friendly workshop to get the mount welded in and then the frame can go into the paint shop. Or better still, just buy a frame with the mount already built in, I guess though that the industry would need some kind of...
