That's interesting flecc, they could be onto something with the iris in that case.

    Bafang Max Drive

Interesting Ultrafunkula, maybe one of the folk on here who have recently got the Greenway Bafang Max Drive bike, could be so kind as to measure the Chain Line. 45mm would be a jip for the Rohloff, as pushing the Chain Ring out be 9mm although not impossible, may not be so pretty. Worst case...

    2018 year of the 21700

Yep, Tesla apparently are to start a soft production run of the Model 3 this month, to iron out the glitches before the main ramp up in June. Of course each car requires around 7000 of the new 2170 Cells, so there is not going to be many 2170 Cells going spare untill at least 2018. Your link...

speculation: Does brexit make the ebike moped law null and void?

I guess the only way to get "S" Pedelecs legal in the U.K. is to have a referendum on the subject, as that seems to be the only way to get anything sorted in this country.

speculation: Does brexit make the ebike moped law null and void?

Easy, a moped is not pedal assist, well not in the same way as what an ebike is and has cough, no throttle. A 50cc moped I am sure has more power than say a 350watt ebike, as does an electric moped. I would say it is quite easy to differentiate between a "S" Pedlec and a Petrol or Electric...

speculation: Does brexit make the ebike moped law null and void?

Obviousley the DfT must be oblivious to the number of UK ebike riders that have de-restricted there Ebike's by using Dongle's etc, not to mention the Bafang Ebike's which let you up the cut off to 45kmph. I would hope that the UK ebike industry is constantly lobbying the powers that be, for "S"...

speculation: Does brexit make the ebike moped law null and void?

The "S" Pedelec Class in Germany, does require a number plate, albiet a miniature one, the designated "S" Pedelec helmets, at first glance look just the same as a regular bicycle helmet. Insurance yes, and if you are using the bike for commuting I don't see an issue with that. I often see...

    Inner tubes

Continental Tour Tubes for me, none ebike so I run 1.3" Verdestien "S" Lick tyres, and the tubes seem to hold 90psi for months on end. Just bought some Continental Sport Contact 1.6" tyres brand new at 97p each, obviously eol being 26" 1.5" is normally as big as I like to go, but at 97p I was...

speculation: Does brexit make the ebike moped law null and void?

Even before Brexit, I could not understand why the UK can not have parity with say, Germany or Holland regards "S" Pedelecs "S" Pedelecs would make more sense, for work commutes.

    panasonic/tesla 2170 cell

That's not a bad price, works out at around £90 for 40 odd Cells, which I guess is enough to make a 36v (500w) 12ah battery I guess. Of course that pack is around £750 containing 330 Cells, so plenty left over to make a few ebike battery packs, sells those and you are quids in on the deal lol.

    panasonic/tesla 2170 cell

Give the boy a chance, the first 2170 Cells only rolled of the production line last month, and the Gigafactory is only 20% built or something. Add to that that they have to make enough Cells to fit into the 500,000 pre-ordered cars and target build by the end of 2018. Each car needs around...

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

Great, a device that tells you when your bike has been stolen, of course the chance of ever seeing the bike again, will be just as remote as if the bike did not have the device. Save your money, and just keep an eye on your bike at all time's, when out and about with it.

    NuVinci 360 gearing

Yep my current Rohloff SLT-99 chain on my none powered Rohloff Bike has done over 5000 miles, and according to my Rohloff chain wear checking tool, in the first position shows amazingly little wear. Of course the set up is akin to Single Speed, and the SLT-99 chain is 8 Speed, no power link etc...

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

It does seem odd that the Greenway is coming from a retailer that mostly deals in low end regular pedal cycles. I wonder why it is that the more established ebike retailers are not offering similar Bafang Max Drive Ebikes. The bar has now been set, and I can only guess the £1000 price tag is...

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

What's not to like for a bag of sand, my Rohloff igh is needing a new home, and one of these Bafang Max Drive ebike's would do the trick!

    Hub gears for my bike

Rohloff is belt compatible, also have a look at the Kindernay igh, very similiar to the Rohloff but with hydraulic shifting. Problem could be power, Rohloff state Max 100nm torque imput, to stay within warranty, in the event of failure, the nylon bushes will cave in, it will save the hub...

    NuVinci 360 gearing

A 7 speed or 8/9/10 Speed rear derailleur cassette on an ebike is going to give a rubbish gear range, compared to using a Nuvinci or Rohloff, even cheapo 11 Speed Shimano Alfine igh would be better. A 27 Speed derailleur with 3 Chain Rings up front, only gives the same gear range as a Rohloff...

    NuVinci 360 gearing

My none ebike has a Rohloff igh, got that back in 2004 and have done a few cycle camping tours, from Manchester to Scotland via the Lakes, and the Rohloff is sweeter now than the day it was bought, having never skipt a beat, or a gear! Not bad after 13 years usage. I would say the Nuvinci is...
