    Oxydrive ride recorded on Strava.

Now that is called "progress" and made the inventor of progress the richest man in the world! Only to be kicked out of first place recently by a discrete Spaniard who sells very nice clothes made in sweat shops in Asia and elsewhere. I am sitting here wearing only clothes sold by this man...

    Bikes in France

http://www.gitane.com/e-bike-gitane.html Gitane (translation: gypsy woman) isn't only a cigarette brand! One of the traditional bike manufacturers. This one is pretty funky, I have only seen it in the showroom http://www.gitane.com/signature-mixte-en-detail-1-86.html Neomouve have jumped on...

GSM Are the later ones better?

You have north and south of the mountains, the difference is usually about 10°C. Two weeks ago I rode south, here it was 38°C and in the valley of the Bidasoa 24°C! Last week when I rode up Jaizkibel The temperature was between 26°C at the bottom and 14°C at the top.

    Battery help

This has been trotting around my brain for a while, my conclusions: 1. only works for an "advanced" user, charging is simple but not plug and forget nor plug and play 2. a BMS or a controller with LVC set to 36.5 V (for someone using a 36 V controller) is a better idea than an alarm 3. a decent...

Bike not working after battery replacement...Help please !!

It is a square wave controller I am guessing? You are pulling full Amps and that is the noise it makes at full Amps. My sine wave controller makes knocking noises in assistance level 5 you learn to live with these things

    New wattmeter

Is there a cheaper alternative to a Speedict? I just need a real time voltage reading from the battery that can be transmitted via Bluetooth. Is it easy to tap into the data sent from the controller to the LCD? At the source in the controller, the voltage is spot on when compared with the...

    Bikes in France

I went to the post office this morning and because they are redecorating the entrance is round the back. There are three of these bikes parked there and unused for a while, they were used in Ascain apparently (it is painted on the bike). Big 8-FUN rear hub with a coaster brake, no apparent...

    Daimler Mercedes Designer Smart eBike

It is a pretty thing isn't it! The pedals alone are worth 62€ when bought as parts! Now don't you start acting like the owner I tried to chat to, he also had the "Designer e-bike owner I don't chat with the lower classes" attitude that seems to be de rigueur with these bikes!

GSM Are the later ones better?

I was too scared to weigh it :D I don't think it weighs 3 kg maybe 2.8 - 2.9 kg. I will be taking mine to bits soon the motor side needs looking at for water tightness before the rainy season sets in. I am going to mount a set of Shimano STEPS cranks and a chainring spider with a 44t chainring...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

What I don't get is this "get rid of EU law" thing. EU law is mostly about customer, environmental and worker protection. Now if they aren't a good thing in the UK best we get rid of you as quick as possible and stop buying your products. Is that the message you want to get across?

GSM Are the later ones better?

wooshbikes.co.uk/manuals/GSM-Greasing.pdf The motor works in +32°C heat, the rider stops working at about 38°C long before anything can go wrong with the motor! :D

    GreenEdge cs2

My problem was having enough thread on the axle after adding the trailer hitch. The hole was drilled out as above and I also drilled a countersunk hole for the nut about 2 mm deep to get some more hold on the axle. If I was to start from scratch I would mount the hitch to the frame and not the...

GSM Are the later ones better?

You could try running it with an external controller if that is possible. Have you opened it to add grease on the drive side? Makes it silent. I am more than happy with my external controller version.

    27.5+ Conversion

36 for unfit offroad or very steep very technical and 42 for a strong fit rider. 42:32 is 37.2 gear inches. Next step would be an 11-34 cassette. I had a 42-32-22 crankset and with a 14-34 rear cog the bike could climb walls in 42:34 bottom gear.

Cube 2016 Travel Pro step through sizing

Acht! Germans! Structurally if you want the same strength from a single tube step through you increase the weight by at least 800 grams, often 1.2 kg. And what I want to say is COMFORT! COMFORT! COMFORT! I don't miss the top bar at all. The big fashion thing here is the very fine tubed...

    Has anyone e-assisted a SA 8Spd HUB

All manufacturers supply the correct gear ratios to respect in order to stop their hubs from being too stressed. Rohloff being at the top end of the scale. On the Bafang you can go down to 36 teeth before things become too weird.

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

I can't see my bottle battery going beyond 2 years of useful life and it has Samsung cells. In that time I will probably have done about 8,000 km which works out to about 0.03€ a kilometer (not electricity, battery cost). I think that decent walking shoes probably cost as much... :)
