A pleasant ride to the seaside today where I had lunch on Brighton promenade and a nice ice cream later along Worthing promenade. Quite busy with holidaymakers and day trippers much like myself :) and a plucky few taking a dip.
2990ft climbed averaging 14.2mph for 73.6 miles.
Only one pic today, one that I have passed several times with out stopping for a pic.
Smart looking castellated entrance to the Clayton/ Pycombe tunnel through the downs.

To be honest you only get a glimpse of it South from Hassocks on the 273 just before you get to the 2112 at Clayton, would be better with a steam loco appearing though.

Also today I weighed myself before and after my ride to see how benificial it is riding an ebike ? After the ride I was 2lbs 6oz lighter even after my lunch and ice cream, probably helped by the fact that I do like to use as much effort as I can in low assist.

Just looking at it on google, the google car got a great view of it from 8 or 9 feet up in the air.

The entrance is in a bit of a ravine, driving in a car it is so easy to miss. One advantage of cycling you do see a lot more the you realise.

I am really impressed by the mileage you do on a ride. My longest so far is about 68 miles, the first time I had the two batteries and so about 18.5 Ah to play with.

As I was working 6 day weeks all through August today was my first outing and I am sore in all the usual places after 28 km or so :(

Like wise I have been kept off the bike sometimes for 2 weeks at a time and do suffer numb bum but as always once back to regular rides it goes away.
This summer I have been kept busy with the bees and other related issues, I it seems am the only swarm collector in town and also remove bumble bee nests to safety if in danger.

Just shy of 33 miles this morning on an errand ,average speed 17.3 mph & top was 39.8. Upped the assist as had to get back to go to work used levels 5 & 6 of 18, battery usage about 60% depleted to 37.1v.

Certainly the perfect day for it. Very nice photos as well. :)

No mention of the Green Man at Horsted Keynes! You must have been slaking!! :)

Despite traveling past Nutley windmill many times a month, and living just a few miles away from it, I haven't actually been in to see it since visiting it during a primary school trip in the mid seventies. Oddly, I have always felt that it would spoil the lovely memory of it. Easily the best school trip that I ever went on. Perhaps I should go back there.

I was working at South Heighton today, and kept looking up longingly at the South Downs. It would have been the perfect day to be out and about. :(

Instead it will have to be a late night ride, somewhere closer to home.

I did pass the GM again, one day I will stop for a sup.
May have been the perfect day but glad I chose to ride with my merino base layers today as autumn is here proper and there is a definite nip in the air even in the bright sun. Last week I made the mistake of riding to Ranmore in my normal summer kit and am just getting rid of the sniffles, sign of getting older.

Where you dived off the road marked by the green arrow, is one of the entrances that I use for my twice weekly off road commute to work.

The area enclosed in black is a woodland that subject to a site meeting, I have just been given sole rights to ride on. :)
The area in yellow is one of my favourite local woodlands to ride around, and it is very easy to do about 15 miles of riding in there, without having to go on the same track twice. Sadly it is also one that I was kicked out this time last year, but for some reason my bike seems to be drawn to it like a magnet, especially at 7.00am in the morning.

:( Can't view your pic insert all I get is the black box with a cross in it and ( Img ) next to it, recently W10 has upgraded to an anniversary edition and it is crap worse then the original W10. Quite often it doesn't even allow me to browse very easily.

Now that is called "progress" and made the inventor of progress the richest man in the world!

Only to be kicked out of first place recently by a discrete Spaniard who sells very nice clothes made in sweat shops in Asia and elsewhere. I am sitting here wearing only clothes sold by this man except for my cotton boxer shorts which come from another source, which just goes to show! The worlds leading billionaire has dressed me and the runner up doesn't even have a product in my home. Cruel justice Bill Gates! Eat your heart out.

Back to your problem Nealh, install Google Chrome, it will probably take you a couple of weeks because despite an EU court ruling Microshit don't want you to do that. They want you to continue your superior user experience with W10 and who needs pictures anyway! <end of rant>

No pics today but another run out to the seaside (66 miles) including an errand run to drop off a 09 battery rail for Kirstin. Lunch was taken on the promenade near the old west pier in bright but chilly sunshine looking out on to a flat calm sea. Although repetitive the journey is not one I get tired of. The rear wheel with the bafang cst has been causing a few issues with loose spokes and a few snapped ones so last week I respoked and trued it up and had no issues today so hopefully it is ok now.

Another 50+ mile ride out today errand running. A run down to Brighton to pic up my Lekkie from Darren @ Beb. Pretty hilly where he is and arrived at his workshop just as he was arriving back from a test run on a bbs bent he has converted for another customer. Great to meet another pedelecer forum member and a good chit chat on ebikes and related issues in general.
Then off to Hassocks to go shopping for my bees before heading home.

A cold 36.5 miles today which reminded me I need to get a thin lightweight face /neck warmer like a balaclava that will also let me wear my snowboard dudes helmet. A few lycras's out road traffic was quiet. A reoccurring theme for today pics.

The Lowfield Heath Post Mill use to sit in a field adjacent to the A23 a bit unloved, it was moved and restored many years ago to its new site on the outskirts of Charlwood.

Next to the Club House nr Reigate this Post Mill Circa 1750 owned by Reiagte & Banstead is the only church mill in the country, inside are pews and an alter and is still used for Xmas services.
