Daimler Mercedes Designer Smart eBike

Well! After watching and contributing to the very entertaining and eventually insulting now closed thread from smart e-Biker I got to thinking that a German made high quality e-bike for £500 should definitely be worthy of consideration. So sat in a very nice pub/restaurant and after a few drinks I looked at Amps website and checked his posts on Pedelecs.co.uk all was good so it seemed to make perfect sense to buy it and I emailed David at amps and the bike was bought.

Unfortunately he was getting ready to exhibit at the Bike Show the next day so I had to wait until he returned from the show for him to dispatch but he called me and explained, so no problem.

I had a couple of conversations with David of Amps who was very helpful and pleasant and the Designer Daimler Mercedes Smart bike arrived today. I took it for a ride and it was great... Absolute bargain!

Must also mention the bike is totally as new with the odometer showing 16km! Eat your heart out Smart guy

Questions. How do I know if it's a 200 or 250w and if it's 200w how do I upgrade to 250 and how do I alter the trip computer to show miles instead of km

David said the software had been updated so it's probably already 250 watts. The difference was almost certainly to be only in software since it was designed as 250 watts for rhe main EU market and BionX only make this motor in 250, 350 and 500 watt forms.

Hi Flecc, many thanks for your previous advice which convinced me to go ahead and buy the Designer Daimler Mercedes Smart e-bike. Izzy

It is a pretty thing isn't it! The pedals alone are worth 62€ when bought as parts! Now don't you start acting like the owner I tried to chat to, he also had the "Designer e-bike owner I don't chat with the lower classes" attitude that seems to be de rigueur with these bikes!

Agreed. I rode the R&M Roadster at the NEC and loved it - looking to buy in the next two weeks, but can't stretch to full price for an R&M at the moment.

Hi David, I might be interested in the Mark 1 Wisper Torque, would you send it to Ireland?

They will cost £1,200 and will have a one year warranty.
