    SPOKES

I don't think DT Swiss supply spokes to Chinese hub motor manufacturers... I may be wrong. The problem with thin spokes on hub motors is the bigger holes they have to cater for larger gauge spokes and that can me excessive play at the hub.

    Big Bens tyres

Tube size is related to the rim width so 2" and 2.25 use the same sized tube. http://www.schwalbe.com/en/schlaeuche.html I had a braking incident on my first ride which I put down to wet road, new tyres. Since then have not had any problems but I am using rim brakes of course - soon to be...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

It is possible to "assemble" or "make" bikes that can compete on cost at entry level in the EU and with the new factories in Portugal and in the eastern countries will become more and more so. The cost of logistics and especially time to market mean a supply chain measured in days and not weeks...

Raleigh Motus Cross bar. Is upright ridiing style possible

Sounds good, the other easy solution is to change the handlebars. That will set you back an extra tenner or so.

Touring teething problems, extraction or remidial work?

The power display only shows an estimation and some of them need some time to calibrate themselves. I never trust mine even after over a year of battery use. I look at voltage and km travelled and rely on my experience to estimate how much juice is really left.

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

I think Solex failed because they were ahead of the market and too expensive - they are very well built and have high spec components. There is a Solex at my friends but I haven't ridden it yet.

France (which is up against the ropes waiting for the final death blow as I have read in a certain UK press) makes bikes which Intersport sells for about 10 € more than the made in China ones. I stand correected, France makes bike frames but so then does China, Japan makes the drive trains...

La batterie (grande autonomie, puissance de 360 watts par heure) est une 36 volts / 10 A... Eléments Samsung très stables. Garantie 2 ans (de 350 à 500 cycles de charges à 100%). OK so it has a 10 Ah Samsung celled battery. Some very serious hills over 540 km did you take the N-420? How much...

    Big Bens tyres

I have a slow bike (won't freewheel over 55 kph downhill because of bad aerodynamics) but when I was running unrestricted 45 kph was quite easy to obtain with the motor in 5th and 6th gears.

    Guest Bike Conversion

What size box is it? I have the huge one and there is plenty of room for the cables. My Mxus kit came with an under saddle bag, great for warming the seat in winter!

    Big Bens tyres

I have mine pumped up hard because I only ride on the road. I think I will put a matching set on the trailer too but less PSI for more suspension effect.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The whole freedom of movement thing in the real EU (I have never included you lot in that) is the leaky borders in the south letting in economical and war refugees, it has nothing to do with legal residents of the EU moving about from country to country. And Brussels isn't doing a whole lot to...

700c Q100-CST rear conversion with Cycle Analyst and EM3EV controller (lipo battery pack also avail)

https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/695-s06sc-sine-wave-controller-for-central-motor-ebike-kit.html If you have an LCD-3 or LCD-5 hanging around doing nothing at $24 + shipping it is a bargain (well if you need other stuff from bmsbattery otherwise shipping is more expensive than the controller!)...

    Pitlock security...

I tried doing a crappy paint job but people keep saying "Oh what a nice bike" scares the willies out of me. Besides the AXA frame lock and chain I have a Kryptonite and cable on the way for the front wheel, battery box and NCX. Where I leave mine there is a police station opposite the door. It...

    Where's the battery?

That is the shipping weight d8veh and nano-tech like Graphene is rated for 600 charge cycles which based on what I have seen so far with the Graphene packs seems highly probable. Weight: for me it is off the bike and in my backpack that is important so yes 500 grams is a lot. My charging...

    BBS02 on a cargo bike.

Don't you have a screen capture utility on your computer? :p I see you climbed a wall at 35 km, that is where your gearing is failing you I guess. We have a few spots like that here, I ride around them rather than over them. I will be running 42:32. And as I have a spider if that doesn't work...
