    Cyclamatic foldaway

Mine has V-brakes on the rear-stays. I agree about the too long stem and flex, I think I'll be getting about 3 inches cut out of the middle of it and I must replace the naff seatpost with a cheap alloy one. I hope to have my first ever E-bike ride shortly, very damp and foggy here at the...

    Cyclamatic foldaway

The code had run out I think? I know the mountain bike was on offer before. The motor just has a few stickers on CE 24V 20 with a sort of T and a hand written sticker starting XF0309 The bottom of the frame is like a box, I had thought the controller would be in the battery box, but with...

    Cyclamatic foldaway

While I wait to decide on a kit for my Dahon I thought I'd try a cheap electric bike. So I ordered a Cyclamtic Foldaway yesterday, I know Jerry was keen to see a review so I'll try my best to oblige :) It arrived this morning. First impression was from the weight of the box which was heavy...

Best place to buy Tongxin motors ?

Hi Jerry, Tis me Stuart with the alloy forked Dahon Mu :) Had the front wheel off, it was fitted the wrong way round  and found 80mm should be no-trouble for the forks

Best place to buy Tongxin motors ?

Hi Paul (emissions-free) I just wondered if you're any further forward with regard to selling/supplying a kit here in the UK? I'm interested in a hub motor for a 20" front wheel with a axle width of no-more than 80mm Thanks

    Crank drive system

Just found this amazing machine Endless-sphere.com • View topic - Miles' Project 1 [eMoulton] It looks like the gearing on my idea might be a bit on the low side

    Crank drive system

I have no idea if this idea has been tried or is even in production. The chainring and smaller inner motor drive are fixed to each other on a crank that uses a freewheel pawl system like a rear cassette. also the drive sprocket on the motor has a freewheel system too. So you can have electric...

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

A bit of patience should hopefully reap the reward of getting one cheaper. I'll keep my eye on them. I know they have dropped the price of the Mu XL sport by £10 since I first looked. Worth having a D7 for the price of an electric motor I think.

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

Thanks rooel, I wish I'd known that earlier now :( I guess I could buy one of these D7 and then keep the Mu as a beautiful ornament until they find a cure for my ME, and it's really not as daft as it sounds.

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

Hello Dan Yes it's an Mu XL Sport with an 8-speed Nexus hub Yes the forks are triple butted aluminium, a change of forks looks to be on the cards then to accommodate the Bafang motor, they're 75mm wide at the drop-outs. That's interesting, that blue Dahon folds the opposite way to mine...

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

Where do you get a Bafang motor from? Ok thanks guys :) So could I put an 80mm wide Bafang hub in my 75mm alloy forks? and where can I buy one from? Thanks as an aside there is some very dubious wheel building on the back wheel, the hole in the rim limits the angle at which the nipple...

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

If I didn't have ME I think I would indeed leave well alone eddieo. Thanks Jerry, I've spent a lot of time reading both yours and Dan's threads, it is indeed a complicated process and nothing is simple and straightforward. Nothing quite fits the bill at the moment, my wish list is the 75mm...

The best way to go about powering my Dahon?

I've bought a bike, now I need to convert it to an e-bike. It has alloy forks with a 75mm spacing, a Crystalyte will go straight in, but as a direct drive I believe these are at their best at speed on the flat, I want something that will help me up hills at a slow pace. I'm guessing an 80mm...
