The Quando looks the nicest with the straight downtube, that must be a single speed then with a rear-hub motor?

Anyone wish to compare gear ratios

No, it's about using the front deraillieur as a guide to keep the chain in check, you can also buy a simlpe none moving guide similar to a derailleur. My chain has always fallen off to the outside and as the bike is nearly always in top gear that makes sense.

At the moment I find the pedelec fine really, I just thought that if you had a much more powerful bike you'd want a way of adjusting how much assistance you get, lots for the hills and a little less on the flat. I had another outing on Saturday and have to say it is fantastic to be out and...

Anyone wish to compare gear ratios

The original chain set on the bike does have plastic guards either side, but the outer one has enough room to let the chain slip between the chain-wheel and guard, the first couple of times it happened I thought the rear cluster had lost drive because the chain spins silently round on the...

Anyone wish to compare gear ratios

No I mean for fitting a front derailluer which would also help to stop the chain coming off.

Anyone wish to compare gear ratios

Thanks Dave, that's a good price. A shame a derailleur isn't a simple fit, what with the battery in the way, my chain has come off 3 times already.

Anyone wish to compare gear ratios

I look forward to hearing how you get on, despite the hills around here I think I also need to gear-up my folder too. So I'll be on the look-out for a new chain-set.

I have the folding version which is unrewarding to ride above the assisted level, it is pretty low-geared although I'm not sure gearing it up a bit would make the experience any more pleasureable. But then again I'm comparing it to a fairly light racing bike that I know would be much faster on a...

choose your bike seat colour wisely

Nice low bars, I had a ride on one when they first came out and found it a bit too flexible for my liking.

I'll give it a go when I've recovered from my ride yesterday, recovery takes a few days with the M.E. even then my own battery only ever gets up to 20% of full. I wonder what sort of Honda 50 you used to ride? edit just seen it was a scooter ;)

Thanks for the explantion Tony :) I think one day soon I'll end up with a much higher spec e-bike, but for now I'm enjoying the experience, just so long as I accept the limitations of my current bike. Having said that I feel fairly confident this foldaway would allow me to pedal up...

That's quite a robust statement about the manufacturer of my battery, now I'm starting to wonder what's wrong with that company? I guess it's just the sticker. I have also noticed how similar some aspects of my bike are to the folding Wisper bikes too. I had another ride today, as long as...

Just had a quick spin, I guess I'm pretty pleased with the experience, please bare in mind I can only compare it to a normal bike. It is low geared and I imagine assist only works up to 15mph or so, it got me up the hills quicker than when I was fit without too much input from me, I did...
