    If I was you...

Fair enough. I have different health issues and find riding my bike tiring on my whole body, it really gives the whole body a good work-out. I'm in a similar position to you looking for a new bike, although I've had an introduction to ebikes on a cheap Cyclamtic, which was fine for the money...

    If I was you...

With regard to the 2 mile walk to the shop and back (a good 30 mins) and your back pain, I would honestly think that riding a bike would be even worse for your back?

    Bosch 45 km/h

Enterprise used Impulse power didn't it? and that did quite a bit more than 16 mph

    Bosch 45 km/h

Assisted to 20 mph is fine for me. SVA which is now IVA is in the region of £500 on a kit car these days, so I certainly wouldn't want to have to do that. 3K is too steep for me, given that your almost perfect KTM was circa £1800? I'll be wanting to pay no more than 2K for my bosch 45, perhaps...

    Bosch 45 km/h

Thanks eddieo, that's not bad, I'm hoping to get an 11-speed Alfine model though, that's if someone out there makes one? So can you register a bike at the dealers in the same way a moped would be registered, or are we not geared up for that sort of thing here in the UK?

    Show us yer Motorbike

That's scary, they're slow enough with just one on as standard, the standard exhaust has a tiny 3 mm hole that all the gases have to pass through. Mine does about 65-70 mph now ;)

    Winnats pass

Rosedale chimney is pretty steep, however the passes in the lakes take some beating.

    Winnats pass

Being a local hill to me I used to ride up it now and again without any assistance, never got round to trying it on an electric bike yet, but it should be pretty easy with a little electric boost.

    Which folding bike?

I've got one of these Dahon Mu XL Sport Folding Bike 09 - Gunmetal 20 inch Wheel and I do ride it on rough canal tow paths and old railway cycle trails, I rode it around the Derwent and Howden resovoirs the other day without trouble, half the route was unpaved. The quality of the folding catches...
