Yes that's what I said earlier in the thread, although I didn't go into quite as much detail as you have.

I quite agree, that's why I made a point of mentioning the two chain guards on either side of the crank wheel, I imagine they'll make it rather difficult to do that.

The 8-speed hub is a bit of a faff full stop, I've cursed my friends Dahon a few times trying to do punctures. My Dahon has rear-facing dropouts and chain-guards on either side of the front ring, and a none split chain, so I'm not even sure I could get the wheel out without having to split the...

One trick is tightening the wheel out of line, nipping up just the furthest back nut up first, then twisting the wheel inline and then doing the other nut up.

Just wondering what the replacement bike is like. This one must be great having assistance up to 28 mph, I bet it fly's.

Yes check the noise isn't coming from the chain or sprockets. I run a Nexus 8 with no issues. They're well sealed to water ingress.

Thanks, I've seen the Sram 3-speed hub before, but not this quoted 8-speed hub plus 8-speed cassette. Lovely bike all the same, and easy to miss as the larger picture is the step-through version.

This might sound like daft question, but how many gears does this bike have? I've looked at the KTM link and it looks to be an 8-speed cassette and 8-speed hub? has it really got 64 gears?
