What makes you think they are less likely to be involved in accidents? We don't have anything to prove of disprove this... because. a) we don't know what % of normal bikes are involved in accidents, or b) what % of eBikes are involved in accidents. currently there are less eBike accidents...

People have done jail time for being involved in accidents whilst riding bikes illegally, or illegal bikes (depending how you want to look at it).. its just not been an eBike yet (that I'm aware of).

Just to be clear... if its got a switch, its illegal on and off road. Also, the law is clear on and offroad is the same. if you want to use anything more than 250w rated motors anywhere you need private land with no public access, this can of course be on or offroad.

Have you been to Germany? The argument that the EU gets in the way of anything or prevents the UK exporting etc etc is lost simply by looking there. Their economy, exports, business is all thriving. Why do you think they can do it, and we can't? We're both in the EU?

This assumes the UK (1 Nation) is able to negotiate a better trade deal with China than the EU (27 Nations) and also assumes that the chinese bikes won't still be less desirable than the EU ones. The tariff isn't going to put people off premium EU brands. Just look at normal road bike brands...

Also, everyone has clearly said since day 1 one. We're currently negotiating leaving the EU. Once we've left, we can then sort out the new relationship / deal. We can't do that until we've left.
