    Brexit, for once some facts.

15 million wouldn't have won though would it! They needed the support of the racists to beat the 16 million remain vote ;) You've added another bit to your post, which I do agree with really. Its the problem with asking such a serious important question. Its why the referendum was only...

I'll cut your post of at this point and ask... at what point in time do you want me to take their postition. Last year? maybe?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

no no no... I'm saying there are a % of people who voted for basic racist or ignorant reasons, and this % could have been what swung it in such a narrow majority. I've met a couple of people who had one good reason to leave, the problem is I'm sure my wife could find more than one reason to...

ah, if only everyone had voted for those reasons. I'll post this again from up this way this week. and just to be clear about it..... Since Barnsley has a higher level of residents born in the UK than the national average and a lower rate of residents either born in other EU countries or...

i also wish more people thought about it BEFORE they voted for it. I'm sick of seeing videos of people who voted leave for reasons like this! The will of the people... can be wrong.

and what if it gets worse? At what point might you think it is a bad idea? Because I'll be happy to admit I was wrong if it does turn out better.

lol, really... you've never imported from Argentina I take it? the physical cost of an item is a % of the cost of getting it here. So even if the cost of the item has dropped 8% if the import costs / fuel / staff etc etc have all gone up.. The import will still cost more to the consumer in the UK.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

ok you've quoted some text from the Telegraph... There doesn't seem to be evidence of a surge when you actually look at the data though. The ONS says this: Despite higher trade prices and weaker sterling, there were similar increases in export and import volumes of goods, by 5.0% and 4.8%...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

you've made some statements, that I'm not disagreeing with. What you've not done is explained how the UK made the £s value fall. and you've also not explained why it would need or want to fall, if Brexit is a positive? If it was a positive thing surely it would increase the value of our...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

ah, which imports haven't gone up?? They are all paid for in other currencies, so they all have gone up. and which exports have benefited? Because the ONS - don't seem to show any surge in exports at all. If you can show me some figures that show that we've seen a growth in exports, I'll...

you added this bit after I replied, but its VERY important so I'm going to reply. This is at the heart of my issues. You think I should be more critical before I say its wrong... I'd argue you're asking me to sign up to something you yourself don't even have a grasp of. What is Brexit...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

See above ... But just to be clear. What gives you the impression it was a choice made by the UK? and Why the need to collapse the currency when you think Brexit is a positive?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I appreciate that... but as you say it doesn't answer my question in anyway shape or form and does some what lead onto the point I wanted to make. There is no indication at all anywhere, that the devaluation of the £ was a deliberate or even positive act. We are a nation of importers. The...

Ok, I'll bite.... any evidence for this revelation? before I pick holes in it.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Seriously??? You're seriously suggesting the devaluation of the £ after the EURef was a decision taken to protect job? Seriously?? In a country that's a net importer of stuff we need, and a net exporter of primarily services. a) how the hell do you think the devaluation was a policy that was...

This last 12 months seem to have seen pretty universal decline in sales in most industries hasn't it? Cars for instance. Steady growth in new car registrations since the financial crash, and then suddenly 2017 decline.... I'll leave you to think about what could be the link to all this...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Brexit is part of it, I'm not saying its the sole cause, I'm not that naive. We're still growing and taking market share, of what is clearly a decreasing market, but we're having to be aggressive to do that, and that's included massively cutting our margin to help absorb the cost of the...
