    Kudos Alamo/Stealth v G-tech e-bike.

I think you'll get more feedback if you put more effort in, had you posted photos and links I might have commented, but I can't be bothered doing the work for you to answer your question, sorry.

    Bafang chainwheel

Hybrid, so 700C I imagine. How do you get on with the gear changes?

Why are you changing? What size front chainring do you currently have? Guessing a 46 like Tommie?

E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

I doubt you'll find anyone here who has that point of view. I never once think ooh I could have done the ride I've just done with a 4 mph lower average speed and some nasty grovelling on the limit climbing that I'm not keen to ever do again. I just think that was a nice ride and I look forward...

Hub gears v derailleur on an E bike.

I'm running a 16 too, 1st is low enough for any hill here with the motor, I'd be walking with a flat battery though.

Hub gears v derailleur on an E bike.

I think my bike would probably be scrap now if I hadn't fitted a tensioner. There was someone on here a few years ago who ended up with nearly destroyed horizontal drop-outs in a very short space of time. Mine was a nightmare to tension and align the wheel, terrible design from KTM.

Hub gears v derailleur on an E bike.

You really need wider sprockets for any advantage of the wider chains. KMC recommended this one to me, I'm happy with its lower wear rate, the terrain I ride in is very hard on components with some serious heavy duty high load climbing. http://www.kmcchain.eu/chain-KMC_X1_Silver-e_bike-narrow

Hub gears v derailleur on an E bike.

I've got about 7,000 miles on a Nexus 8 hub with a Bosch classic motor. I've just had it to bits as the bike developed an intermittent nasty crack sound. I suspected it may be the hub, so stripped it, cleaned it and regreased it. Back to normal now with nice slick gear-changes and no cracking...

E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

Random video there SW. As the bike rolls so well above assist speed there's no need to modify it.

E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

Yes, but save one for me late next year ;) https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/road.e.1/24987/90635/

    Speedbox2 for Yamaha Haibike.

If 10th gear is top gear it sounds like you'll have to up the gearing quite a lot of you want to take advantage of a higher assist speed.

E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

I think it's the 500 w/h battery that is from Giant.

I'd have gone for the +1 too, those Spyre brakes on the +2 are even lacking bite on a bike half the weight. Shimano pads improve them. I shall look forward to seeing how you get on, the speed above the assist speed seems extremely positive. and as Rob says I bet the brakes will be fine for you.

Has anyone actually seen a Renault Twizy on the road?

I've seen a couple locally in Derbyshire, but only the one sighting for both.

E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

It was due as a 2016 model, but I get the feeling it didn't make it to market, so we might have to wait until next year for 30% off offers.

    Winnats Pass.

Had another go at Winnats yesterday, didn't time it though, about 2 minutes I think. A bit like one of my favourite bikes the VTR 250, but bigger.

    Sprocket and speed advice

From the link I see your bike has a 17T front and 23T rear sprocket. If it was my bike I'd try a 16T rear first. Obviously your whole gear range moves higher, so your lowest gear isn't as low, but the motor allows you to get away with a high first gear anyway. You could have a play with a gear...

    Sprocket and speed advice

How many teeth does your rear sprocket currently have? Yes either front or rear sprocket change, or even both, I'd be tempted to go bigger on the front first, purely because of the unusual chain-line the Bosch motor brings. The sprocket is fairly easy to change, it is held on by a circlip. Your...

    Sprocket and speed advice

You can also go down to a 16 tooth on the rear, you just need to take a link out of your chain, although it also depends on how your chain is tensioned on your bike. I've had mine as high as pedalling to 38 mph on my Nexus 8, but I'm on a classic Bosch motor. out of stock here...
