    B'TWIN Tyres feedback

With have a Btwin racing bike with Btwin tyres, the walls of the tyres were very badly cracked within 6 months, I did replace them and noted the cracks probably didn't affect the structure of the tyre and they were pretty heavy compared to the replacement Continentals.

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

I've had the nasty crack/clacking sound too, I stripped, cleaned and greased my Nexus 8 hub that had done around 7,000 miles and that cured the issue.

Bosch performance total loss of drive

You don't say you've had the display off, but I'm guessing you have?

    Changing from hub to crank

Sorry I should have said on bikes without a chain tensioner.

    Changing from hub to crank

You could well be right, I've yet to see any feedback on the new Bosch motors with hub gears and how they get on with chains.

    Changing from hub to crank

Thanks Rob, yes I realised after rereading the post, but I think there may be two hub gear versions, one with and one without a tensioner, my short search didn't come up with a decent image.

    Changing from hub to crank

Tensioning the chain can be an issue dependant on what provision the manufacturer has made, I had to fit a chain tensioner on my bike, but I do concede that I'm very hard on chains because I ride up lots of steep hills. Tell us which bike it is and we can advise further.

New member. Going to buy one, will it help me lose weight?

Nice bike, I wouldn't lean my new bike against the corner of a brick wall on the top tube though.

    Why Derailleurs gears?

Weight and transmission losses. My e-bike gets away with a Nexus 8, but I prefer an ordinary bike on derailleurs. So no vote from me because they both have a place.

Oh the bright side you'll have plenty of money left for the outfit with it being so cheap

    Car inverter for bosh charger

I forget the maths too, ohms law. There are some loses with an inverter, but I think the main one will be that the car charger doesn't deliver as many amps, so charging time will be longer, but power needs much less. I hadn't realised they'd made a 12v charger...

    Car inverter for bosh charger

My 300 watt inverter doesn't supply enough for my Bosch charger, I think a 500 watt will, but that'll need wiring direct to the battery and will flatten your car battery rather quickly.

Me too, a great looking folder with all the right features, but seems a tad overpriced.

    Kudos Alamo/Stealth v G-tech e-bike.

I spotted the stiff rusty chain on the Alamo. Kudos website 2 Gtech website 7 Of course the Alamo is a more suitable bike for me in comparison to the Gtech, my perception is that the Gtech is a better quality product though, advertising done its job there.

    Changing from hub to crank

Just checked the bike, it has a suspension seatpost. So you'd just have to get them to change the seatpost, or buy one from somewhere else. If this is the one? http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/78783/Giant_Prime_E3_W_2016_Womens_Electric_Bike Plenty of options in the 30.9 mm size...

    Changing from hub to crank

The seat post can be shortened easily enough. We have a Giant bike with the same issue, in our case it is the bottle bosses restricting it. Sometimes it can be the top of the seatpost that is slightly bigger in diameter. The shop should be able to easily resolve the issue and get the saddle...

Giant E-Road +1 The Ride Home

Sounds very positive, I spotted that the switch wouldn't work as well as the Bosch one on straight bars. More integration would mean a custom switch. Does yours have 4 power settings. or 5 if you include off?
