    Battery pack cell balancing

If it went to fast all the magic smoke would escape. In my experience, the balance function of a BMS can only do so much. If a cell (s) are a long way out it probably needs a manual balance. I've done this on a few batteries with success. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Bat bike

I assume you are planning on using those tyres? They will be heavy. Likewise that steel frame, and similar with the batteries. It could be around 75 kilos or more. For that you will need some serious torque. As already stated, you need a good budget for motors, controllers and batteries...

Yes, try both. You may like one more than the other. The Hub drive would probably work out cheaper for you, especially since it'll save you having to buy a new rear wheel. Roughly speaking: Hub drive kit, 10ah Battery= £500 Crank Drive kit, 10ah Battery =£ 675 + Rear wheel Sadly I don't...

Throttle, Crank Drive or Off Road?

Just checked, 6/10 of the most recent threads are not related to pedelecs. I'm no statistician, but by some measures that's just over 51.9% While I accept the need for an off topic section, the current proportion is f##king ridiculous. I can remember a time when this country was great, a...

Sounds like converting the MTB is the best bet. Slap some road tyres on it (Big Apples are my favourite). You may find a hub drive a more relaxing ride for commuting.

    Cyclotricity 500w conversion kit

The thing is, being able to turn the power up is just as illegal as having that power all the time, so you may as well do that. Are you sure you need more than 250w though? A 250w controller with no restriction will top out around 18mph. You probably don't want much more than 350w in the...

    Cyclotricity 500w conversion kit

I don't know what motor is in that kit, but I have geared hub motors, Bafang SWX, BPM, CST (500w) and a Q128. None of them exhibit any significant drag, as they all have a clutch. Obviously a 500w is heavier. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Just a guess, but in an emergency I expect you plan on calling someone who's phone is actually switched on? Hopefully they will never need your help. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Seems to be the new leading question. It used to be 'Does it charge while you pedal it?'. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It would be nice if someone could extend the olive branch and keep old Flud involved in this thread. Many of us have enjoyed his absence from the main part of the forum. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Haibike noise

Difficult to hear, but here's a few tips to narrow it down. Is it every revolution of the crank, chain or wheel ? (sounded like every crank rev to me). If it is crank, then most likely a pedal, but could be drive unit (or BB on non assisted bike) When pedal bearings wear they tend to click at...

I have assumed his packs are 3s1p, (10.8v nominal, 12.6v charged) then he has arranged those packs as 2s2p, giving a total of 6s2p. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
