    E-Bike for Towing

Brakes, don't forget those! Getting going with the right gearing is not much of an issue but stopping is another story. Being able to brake the tow along from the front bike would be a good option. If money is no object: https://hasebikes.com/143-1-Recumbent-Bike-KETTWIESEL-EVO-STEPS.html

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

I did a recycling run on Wednesday. The road to the recycling centre is like corrugated iron in spots and the vibrations loosened a QR on the trailer and I lost a wheel! Took me a while to find it in the long grass. The people who passed while I was looking had a good chuckle.

LCD Display from Bafung (and the size of it)

Thanks, didn't think about going to the source. You can buy it alone for a huge price on ali-express or at bmsbattery with a controller for $33: https://bmsbattery.com/home/842-36v48v-250w-controller-for-brushless-motor-with-bluetooth-ios-app.html

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm with you up to the word "discipline" but I have no issues with the digital option because, thanks to a long period as working poor, I have a financial discipline that makes e-mail reminders unnecessary. My yearly (not weekly or monthly) budget is planned ahead, no surprises one way or the...

    Specialised Crosstrail conversion

Ah 137 kg... Didn't get that bit... A GSM will do the job, it works for cyclists because you have to understand gearing correctly for the road ahead. Non cyclists are better with a hub motor. You will want to mount a 32/34 tooth chainring to begin. As you lose weight and get fitter just...

    TSDZ2 On a single speed

http://www.connexchain.com/en/chains-single-speed-and-fixies.html I am a big Wipperman fan that is what is on Number Two. The trike has a KMC at the moment and reminds me of all the things I didn't like about bulk pack KMC cheap chain... The Nickel plated chains also look sexier than brown ones :)

dahon folder conversion - fast and light

If I could I would run with just one brake, the front one, but it isn't legal here - on brake per wheel. One hydraulic front rim brake would be my choice for weight saving. Tern have bikes with 135 mm dropouts.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I can't see how it can work quite frankly. The extra load will be put on Ireland's customs, they will have to do the checking. I can't see the channel border working either, just look at the line of trucks on the French side thanks to inspection for illegal immigrants. The same trucks on the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There are some people on here who have obviously never won a high school debating contest. Or maybe just threw the rule book out the window when they left formal education? Hint: Personal attacks do not better ones argument, rather the contrary. Can we have some fact based posts please?

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

Ah but you aren't in the EU where those conditions are not imposed on the under 14 so they are "just bicycles"... :D

LCD Display from Bafung (and the size of it)

Cut the wire between the control buttons and the LCD, extend the wire so that you can put the LCD in a bag or box somewhere out of sight. You won't know what assistance level you are in by sight you will have to rely on your memory but you get your handlebars back. I have ranted in the past on...

Do you think they are going after Decathlon and the like in this thing? When I go to S.Sebastian which is a cycling city 8 out of 10 bikes (subjective estimate) is a B'Twin and they seem to be moving a few e-bikes now.

And a little French language refresher :p... http://www.lepoint.fr/societe/paris-velib-10-ans-de-vandalisme-15-11-2017-2172510_23.php History of Vélib vandalism, I'm sure the electric bikes don't like the bottom of the Canal St Martin!
