A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

Is your made in Poland? Or, IIRC the production had been moved back to Italy, Sicily, almost the same thing... :p I've had a few, a couple of Pandas and a Stilo. The latter was a very good car, I needed some parts but couldn't find any in a breakers yard because as they said "handles too well...

    Electrical Ground

When you belong to a rowing club you quickly learn that CF conducts DC currents, so much so that rowing a CF boat or with CF oars is forbidden during thunderstorms...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

As experienced in the colonies for centuries. Don't get me wrong, French colonies, Dutch colonies, Belgian colonies etc. have nothing to be proud of either.

Need help choosing a bike for 19 mile commute

At 45 km/h air resistance becomes a real big thing... :( If you want to go faster you need to shave your legs, wear tights and ride in a egg shape positon. Not the most comfortable when going to work (and explaining to your new girlfriend why you nicked her wax...). If you check the air...

    Nearly there now.

On my bike the LCD voltage readout is spot on and identical to my Wattmeter and my multimeter. Depending on the BMS and the controller settings between 30 and 33v are the usual LVC numbers. P1 is the motor gear reduction ratio × number of rotor magnets (usually 16 magnets). I mucked about...

Adding a Tongseng tsdz2 to a Carrera Subway

Wow! Does he have a degree in engineering? ;) Now the quick release on one of the wheels of my stupid silly cheap Chinese trailer did pop off the other day on the way to recycling on a corrugated section of road mind you but on the bike 2000 km trouble free :) My bike has a the cheapest Taylor...

Need help choosing a bike for 19 mile commute

    A little high school physics refresher course: W = A x v 250 W = 7 A x 36v A Bosch 250 W bike probably has an 18 or 20 A controller and the 350 W one maybe has a 22 or 25 A controller. The 250 W and 350 W rating is what the motor can run at continuously for one hour without heating. Not over...

Need help choosing a bike for 19 mile commute

OK I sacrificed my honesty for science ;) and did a quick blast to my GF's and back with the cutoff set to 45 km/h: Peaked at 43.7 km/h in town and in traffic  688 W peak (12S battery rules!) 7.5 Wh/km - this is a very flat ride Some car drivers may have been injured (hurt feelings)...

Need help choosing a bike for 19 mile commute

This might help: http://www.kreuzotter.de/english/espeed.htm You need 1300W to climb a 20% gradient at 15 mph Sunday I was exploring in the Pyrenees and came across a 12% hill about 5 km long. I regularly ride 7% with 13-15% in spots but I can't imagine riding up that 12% bit of road without...

    Bike spotting

Today I saw one of these - moonraker e-crusher r 2018: Nice looking bit of kit, it was with a KTM and a Haibike. And I saw a home made wooden chopper style beach cruiser  all wood including the fork. It looked like it had been CNC cut, very clean job, sorry no camera with me.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Back in the day bonuses were for performance over and beyond expectations. Under performing you lost or got the sack or both... Nowadays we have creative accounting which creates growth out of thin air so those bonuses are probably justified by today's standards...

    Battery Build

I don't have a 3D printer (yet) otherwise the fact it has been tested above 30 Amps makes it an interesting kit. I will eventually bite the bullet and buy one of these: https://www.keenlab.de/index.php/product/kweld-complete-kit/ or the Korean one ($107 shipped)...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Maybe you could reword your posts to "the menace of brexit" or something along those lines? With Davos going on there have been quite a few comments from very important people from high up on the pecking order saying: "things are bad now and brexit hasn't even happened yet..." when referring to...

There is a suggestion on the various kit howto sites to double the bus bars with a thin copper strip to get the resistance down. This won't improve the resistance from the cell to the bus bar but current should flow more freely between cells...
