    Which Bafang kit?

BBS01 kit then. Are you heavy? Do you have long steep hills to climb? It will stress the drive train so you will be changing cassettes and chains more often. 500W will use more Wh than 250W, mathematic... Your front brake isn't up to the job get a Magura HS11...

Would you leave your electric bike at a station all day

I do but it is a bike garage which opens with the transport card. The police station and its CCV camera is opposite the entrance. I even leave the pannier with the battery in it (locked) on the bike.

    Some 18650 fun!

I had the occasion to rummage around in my PC parts box this week and besides a nifty heat sink for my controller project I found a laptop battery for my 18 year old Sony Vaio!!! Now these are not the original batteries, I sold those to a German guy years ago, he wanted to re-cell them...

    GSM Mid Motor Controller

I would say the sweet spot for power/torque @ 36v would be the PSW power 17 A controller. The initial testing by Trex was with 48v and a 20 A controller IIRC. I have never managed to warm the motor beyond tepid in 2000 km and you know where I ride :D I have found a huge CPU heat sink in my...

    Stratospheric prices

The Butchers and Bicycles tilting cargo trike is 4999€, if I had a parking spot I would have bought that instead of the recumbent trike (which I have no regrets buying). Think about it for a moment: - 2701€ cheaper than the cheapest new car on the (French) market. 2541€ cheaper than a Renault...

    GSM Mid Motor Controller

You haven't been reading my threads!... :D 1. You need a controller with a connector for external speed sensor (of course). 2. I had issues finding a correct setting for the internal PAS, it would kick in when turning the pedals in both directions. Fried the PAS HAL so am using external...

Beat Bike Toba Crossbar (Bike Log)

The lights law changed in Germany - battery powered lights were illegal until a couple of years back which is why all earlier German e-bikes had a dynamo.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Ever heard of "The City of London"? Wait and watch as brexit unfolds. Didn't the Mafia hang a banker from a bridge in London? Or was that in a film?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yellow card! You have beaten the Catalonia roads horse to death. Catalonia is not Spain (at least 19% of the people who live there think that...) and the corruption by leading politicians in Catalonia puts the PP in the beginners category. The government in Madrid turned a blind eye to what...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The EU invests, it doesn't throw its money around. The roads in Spain are part of a vast corruption scandal which has just removed the prime minister from office. The EU trusted the PP government, now they are exposed. The EU trusts the Italian government a lot less but still provides funds for...
