    A bit tight...

There is a place on the EU veloroute n°1 where I have to dismount and lift over. Imagine a trike with full paniers and a trailer  Will a bike trailer get through? Trikes are in general 85 cm wide which which makes them just a bit larger than mountain bike bars.

    Bosch ebike motor reliability

I noticed the other day that Rohloff has upgraded the max torque accepted by the speed hub from 130 Nm to 150 Nm. Would that have something to do with the report that they have never had a hub failure?

    My Carrera kraken E 250w Bafang bbs01b

I have tried running the GSM at 44.4v and it is quasi perfect for my cadence which is around 100. The higher power was not appreciated by the external 36v controller so next test is to turn the controller max down to 12 Amps.

Can you give up on powered reverse and reverse by hand? I see the wheels have the rings on.

A little help on a battery

When I built my first bike I was working poor but at getting on for 60 at that point I had learned that good stuff, fit for purpose will last longer and cost less over the lifetime you intend it to have. So I spent more than I could afford at the time and have not regretted it. In the same...

    Bosch ebike motor reliability

My Wipperman chain on the GSM at >2000 km has seen better days but the chainline on that bike is horrible in the lower gears. As the bike has been parked for a couple of weeks at GFs place the transmission has rusted, I don't have that issue parked inside at my place. I use dry lube and the...

    Statistics

"More than 250,000 bikes have been stolen in the UK in the past three years – one every six minutes – according to new figures from insurer Direct Line. Theft levels now are about 17% higher than three years ago, it said, with east London the centre of bike crime." from...

Pleasant ride, sunshine but something missing?

Don't get into an accident on French or Spanish rides without one would be my advice. I have a bell like thing on the trike but am going to fit one of these: They make a noise that gets though headphones. I often come up behind senior holiday maker pedestrians and very often after a polite...

Question about Walk Assist on Shimano Steps

It should start easily enough, that is why throttles aren't mounted on EU bikes, you don't really need one. I have a 12 magnet PAS and that starts after 2 magnets pass the sensor.

Test Q128C before building into wheel?

There isn't much that can go wrong out of the box, especially the motor. I have run into issues with my trike motorisation as well a.k.a. no money because the washing machine broke... :(

    Wheelchair trike conversion

Your CG is in front of the rear axles so 3 kg of battery out on that boom will be fine + the 3 kg or so if motor. You will be much happier with the power and duration of a lithium battery. The person I saw on a wheelchair trike also had saddlebags up front rather than a bag hanging of the back...
