Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

All we want is that when we start to pedal, the motor starts up quickly and efficiently, and it stops quickly when we stop pedalling. We don't need anything clever for that. Fitting a dual hall sensor with a fancy controller is akin to using a £7,000 carbon fibre full suspension 12 speed MTB...

I can now see why you say the things you do after watching crap like that. I stopped after he analysed Trump's first two sentences. He's just playing with words. Trump said that inflation was double what was expected. He didn't say expected by whom. He was perfectly correct in that statement...

Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

I don't think you've worded that very well. Single hall sensors only work in one direction. You can get them to work in the reverse direction by swapping the orientation of the magnets in the N-S axis, i.e. flip the magnet disc. A dual sensor one can also be reversed by flipping both the magnet...

When I used to do repairs for Oxygen bikes, somebody made a warranty claim on a pair of batteries that had stopped working. They were both full of crystals top and bottom in every space. I'd dismantled many of these batteries before. The most I'd seen before was a little white powder at the top...

    Hello

There is nothing wrong with the Chinese bikes. They sometimes have minor problems, but are always easy to fix. If you're incapable of fixing anything, then you need to buy from a local dealer and the only choice is what they have. Out of those Halfords bikes, the Appollo is only 24v and has a...

kirbe 48v 1000w kit - is it for my mtb?

You won't be able to send it back to China. I'd either sell it on Ebay or look for a cheap bike to fit it to that has disc brakes and a triangle frame. A big rear motor and a battery over the back wheel will make the bike quite unstable. It'll tend to wheelie whenever you go up a steep hill...

kirbe 48v 1000w kit - is it for my mtb?

First thing: If your bike has rim brakes, forget it and get a bike with disc brakes that can be upgraded to hydraulic. Those motors are only efficient at constant high speed. Your 16 AH is going to to give you 16 amps for an hour, so if you're running with 30 or 40 amps, it's half an hour...

Which ebike is best to speed up commute, must be able to pedal at 30 km/h

Find a hill. Start from stationary at a known point. Freewheel down the hill to see what maximum speed you get. Repeat with whatever you think it takes to make the drag, then you can see if there's a difference. Obviously, do the tests on consecutive runs in the same conditions wearing the same...

    Batribike problem

That's a very old version of the bike. The LCD looks like an a KT LCD1. If you have that one, you're laughing because they're only about £20. If that's the one you have, look at the controller to see if it's made by KT. LCD1 can be replaced with LCD5...

That sounds like a blow-out, where it escapes from under the bead of the tyre. You get that when the tyre isn't fitted concentrically of the bead has been stretched by excessive levering because of poor technique. Marathon Plus tyres are easily stretched like that.

    bike battery no green light

The number of charge cycles has no bearing on anything. It's more the amount of usage that wears out the battery, and how hard the usage is. The only important things are to charge it to 100% most of the time, and never leave it in a fully discharged condition, and the thing that seems to kill...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

That's interesting. I saw a solar farm that went on for miles totally destroyed by large hail stones. the people who owned or build it probably wanted to commit suicide afterwards. I guess they never thought of that when they built it. I don't know whether that's a concern for the UK. I can...

If anything goes wrong with it, it's going to be cheaper and more convenient to fox it yourself, which gives even more chance for improvement, like a decent battery.

How did you get a huge split? Normally, that's from trying to ride your bike with a flat tyre. I've seen blow-outs from incorrectly fitted tyres, but once that's happened, a Gaddi tube won't save you. I've never seen a split from a puncture.

Review Cube Touring Hybrid Pro 625

That's mainly because the dealers are all bicycle shops and they know nothing about electrics and how to fix them. I bet many of them had simple connection issues, magnetised torque sensors and things like that, though water ingress probably counted for a lot, and the the uninformed unthinking...

    Batribike problem

Batribike Granite is a standard Chinese bike with standard Chinese parts. There's no such thing as Fallowgate wiring. Show your LCD and its connector. We should be able to identify a suitable replacement, otherwise you can replace both the controller and the LCD together to get a working...

Good point, well presented; however, I'm no expert, but I've got this idea in my head that ebikes don't float very well. Next time you're down at the beach, could you try it and let me know?

Nobody mentioned cloud seeding except you. There are 1,026 entries where somebody proposed an action to manipulate the weather. It's possible that some of those involved cloud seeding, but there are many other ways to do it. Taking water out of rivers to grow cotton is one of them, and that...
