A word of warning to all new bike owners.

Glad you are OK Jill . Hope the Driver doesn`t wake up next day and deny all knowledge of knocking you off your machine . Helmets can save lives .

    Moskino

Thanks for the information morphix , he must be expanding, as two addresses to test these machines are listed on his site , one at Ashford the other in Bristol . The setup must be similar to Batribike , designed in Germany , manufactured in China , for Germany read Italy in this case . Looking...

    Moskino

Has anyone experience of Moskino machines or the the Electric Bike Co . that handles them ? I noticed some postings about them a year ago and then nothing . A year is a long time in the E bike world and testing is invited in Ashford and Bristol . For people on a budget there doesn`t seem too...

    Visibility

I use a hi - vis waistcoat bought from Lidl for about £3 .The colour is orange and I`m sure any passing train would slow down for me as it is the same as issued to Railway workers .I ride with the yellow waterproof cover permanently covering my bike bag . With this combination everyone gives me...

Why is my bike kickstand always on the wrong side?

Propstand The propstand on Motorcycles , bikes etc is on the side nearest the kerb so your machine leans towards the pavement when parked . I would imagine the Continentals have them on the other side . If this is not the case, it must be because most of the population are right handed .

    How do you ride?

Assist I use the low assist on my Batribike Folder all the time and medium assist into wind or up a slope . If I want the thrill of cycling unassisted , with two push bikes already, why would I have bought an E bike ?

how do i make it go faster?

Want to go faster ? One of my machines is a Classic 1982 Suzuki CS 50 `Roadie` moped Scooter and to think I moan that it is limited to 30mph ! As suggested, if you want to go faster on your Commute get a Moped .

    Cycle to work scheme?

Politicians You would think the Politicians would have some mercy on the little people doing their bit to save the planet .They give a £5,000 grant to buy a £30,000 car but nothing off for cyclists or E scooterists or even Motorcyclists under the previous discount scheme .Perhaps they think our...

Nissan leaf a good deal or not?

Leaf Steve the replacement battery for the Leaf is £14,000 . You could almost get something decent for the price of that battery .The next generation of 3 cylinder turbo petrol engined cars would be a far better buy .Leave the Electric cars to the film stars who are saving the planet through...

    Step Through or Crossbar

Ride Comfort I have two conventional bicycles and neither has suspension .The ride comfort on the open frame folder is better than the GT Mountain bike .The frame has some `give` .This is illustrated in GP racing motorcycle engineering , where a too rigid frame causes all sorts of handling...

London 20mph Speed Limit to Save Cyclists

Perils of Cycling Don`t wish anything nasty or more Legislation on fellow road users , things have a habit of coming back to bite you . As a cyclist and motorcyclist I am constantly defending cyclists on the MCN Forum after rants against the Lycra brigade in London about jumping lights ...

Confused Golf Club Decides Money Before Status

Birthday Thanks for your birthday wishes Dave . I get pressure from my wife to give up all the time and must admit with 3 powered machines and the Batribike it is sometimes hard to give them all a run each week . On two occasions I have ridden them all in a morning , no wonder the car hardly...

Confused Golf Club Decides Money Before Status

Golf Clubs They seem short of Members here in S.Wales too ! All sorts of inducements to sign up , years ago they had waiting lists . One of the courses is next to a Cemetary with no more space . Are you thinking what I`m thinking ? Tillson that picture of the red Ariel Leader brought tears to...

just got in after 24 miles and snapped the thumb throttle

Plastic Fracture Steve, opinion seems to be against an Araldite repair, but if you want to attempt one this is what you do . Drill a pair of holes in each piece so that they line up with each other . Rough up the mating surfaces to provide a good key for the glue . Cut some small diameter...

    Dogs!

Errant Sheepdog I ride past a Farmyard regularly on my Scooters and Bicycles and get chased by the Sheepdog .As soon as I park up and take off my helmet , the dog walks away . Obviously with only cattle on the farm , he is deprived of sheep and has to find something to give him the thrill of...

Outstanding TED Talk on Electric Cars

Power I would think Tidal power would be more reliable than wind, as a few weeks ago the wind was calm here in S.Wales for 3 or 4 days , not much power was coming from wind turbines then . The tides are reliable and here the rise and fall is the second highest in the World at 40 ft . Coal would...
