Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

I've read countless arcticles, mostly from the government, stating how businesses and citizens need to be prepared for 1st Jan 2021. But I can guarantee, the customs system isn't anywhere remotely prepared for the onslaught they're going to receive from all the extra European mail

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

The situation is pretty pants like, as I don't buy all my bike gear from China. I tend to use German vendors for purchases, as they are fast and reliable. Now maybe not such fast delivery, since the goods need to pass through the custom's system.

Do I have a programming issue or do I just not like my new bafang motor!!

One thing worth mentioning, is that some of the cheaper programming cables use inferior quality USB-Serial adapters, which can cause connectivity issues. So if you still can't connect after exhausting all software tweaking possibilities, try a better quality cable.

Do I have a programming issue or do I just not like my new bafang motor!!

I'm shocked, Windows XP o_O But you're right, Windows XP can be shockingly bad for USB device connectivity.

Here's a thread mentioning the keep current issue: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/why-a-bafang-bbsxx-programming-cable-is-a-worthy-investment.30828/ Here's a thread with some gear you can buy to help your BBS02 run better...

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

So, am I reading the current situation correctly? On receiving purchases from an EU country after 1st Jan 2021, there are no custom's duties to pay, but we are liable for 20% VAT, plus whatever the courier/Royal Mail charges to process the paperwork.

Something worth checking on your BBS01 or BBS02 during maintenance...

During an axle/final drive gear strip down to find the cause of another problem, I came across two issues that might be worth checking, if you ever do some big maintenance on your BBS01 or BBS02. I am not sure if this applies to the BBSHD, as I think it is different internally. Maybe someone...

BBS02 cage thrust bearing replacement help!

My pedal rotation had become a bit choppy, so I decided to pull out the axle for a look. As you can see, one of the thrust bearings had decided to self destruct, which was causing the rotation issue. I've got a new set on the way from Green Bike Kit, but I'm wondering if anyone on here has...

    BBS02 locking open spanner

I managed to dig out the tools I was on about, just to show you how awkward they were to use: The inner lock ring hook tool was difficult to get enough leverage, as the shape made it awkward to hook on the cut-outs properly. The hook would slip out frequently, causing a few expletives. The...

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

Please correct me if I'm wrong. As it stands, when buying goods from a country in the EU, they add tax to value of the country's particular VAT level in the sending country. Then when it reaches the UK, there are no more taxes to pay, because we are currently part of a free trade agreement. If...

    BBS02 locking open spanner

My bad, it was the open ended hook tool that didn't allow much scope for tightening. It widened out too much towards the handle, for there to be much room for the hook to lock into the cut-out on the lockring.

    BBS02 locking open spanner

I'm not sure that you can buy an open ended tool, that deals with both lock rings on one tool. Years ago, when I first fitted my BBS02 kit, I bought a kind of open ended hook tool that allowed me to tighten the inner lock ring. I also bought a separate open ended tool that tightened the outer...

Should be still under warranty, I would get it looked at before it expires.

    Overheating?... Overvolting?... Oversomething? ... Help...

I dream of having enough juice for a 2 hour ride. I agree with Nealh, probably battery sag with the battery near empty. Then a rest of 15 mins allows it to recover somewhat.

    Help! BBS02 reprogramming

When you say can't get the software to function, do you mean the controller doesn't connect with the software?

    Help/advice requested

I'm guessing that as it's a lead acid battery bike, you remove the battery pack and plug the charger into the battery pack to charge. Then once it is charged, you slide the battery pack into the housing behind the seat and plug that connector (shown on one of your pictures) back into the battery...

Replacement battery charger for Vicking Harrier ebike

Instead of cutting connectors off and resoldering, maybe you can measure the dimensions of the connectors and buy an adapter. The following is an example of what I mean: https://www.powersuppliesonline.co.uk/power-adapters/power-adapter-accessories/2-1mm-to-2-5mm-dc-adaptor-barrel.html
