BBS02 chainring size what do you use?

Fresh 48v battery and the 12T rear cog is about 28mph. But that's on a dead flat surface. Realistically, I think that riding around on the 12T is not good for the drivetrain, so I tend to use the next one up.

BBS02 chainring size what do you use?

Mmmmm, I would say that a 48T might stress the Bafang's internal gears a little too much. Plus, it may stifle the very steep hill climbing ability. I have the same BBS02 set-up as you, but with a 26er. I use a 42T Lekkie Bling Ring and it compliments my gearing very nicely, plus it improves the...

    Leon Cycles U.K. (NCM)

Google says they're permanently closed and reading a few reviews, suggests others cannot get hold of them either. Probably legged it back to Europe or China, before Boris can screw them over any more!

    Intermittent PAS problem on BBS01B

There might be one more thing you can try, before replacing the PAS sensor. Haven't replaced PAS sensor myself, but doesn't sound like a fun job  Find a video on how to open up the controller side to expose the wiring inside. Check that all the connectors are correctly seated, as the...

Shimano bb51 compatible with bbs01 etc motors

You won't be disappointed with either the BBS01 or BBS02. Just thought I'd point you to a thread which may be useful to you: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/after-market-bbsxx-crank-drive-gear.32691/page-4 The Bafang installation tool is especially useful.

    Intermittent PAS problem on BBS01B

Before you start replacing components, try one thing, if you haven't already. Finding a video on how to remove the final drive cog assembly will help here, but it's quite easy to do. Remove crank arms and pedals, remove chainring, remove the plastic gear cover and unscrew the axle locking nuts...

Help! BBS01 help required with programming

I'm not a tech wizard, but what I have read on other forums, is that for whatever reason, the Bafang controller is quite sensitive to which USB to serial adapter is used to program it. Some USB adapters are just better at doing their job I suppose.

Help! BBS01 help required with programming

Looks like you got one of the cheap generic Chinese cables with the 'see all the wires' cabling and poor quality USB to serial adapters. Try this one...

    Wanted WANTED BBS02 controller 48v 18 amps 500w

I've ordered some parts from them before, costing around the 50 quid mark and used the dedicated UK postage option. They assured me that this option incurs no customs fees and I received the package with nothing extra to pay.

New 1500w kit not working, Please can someone help!!!!!

I'll hazard a guess that if the display is set to display Fahrenheit, then it's probably shutting the system down to protect itself. For example, 5 degrees Fahrenheit would make the software think it's minus 15 degrees Celsius.

To Loctite, or not to Loctite?

I don't know which is more eye opening, the fact we're talking about balls on an electric bike forum, or that you probably Googled the subject for that link

The censored version is that I ordered a new bearing.

To Loctite, or not to Loctite?

The whole design is actually incredibly good, but there are one or two areas which could be improved upon. The axle lockrings being one of them. To be fair to Bafang, they do improve on the design from time to time. I had taken the final drive assembly out to try and solve an intermittent PAS...

To Loctite, or not to Loctite?

I use your method on my headset bearings, but unfortunately this isn't possible to do on the axle nuts, due to there being no space to hold the larger nut still. The recess makes this nigh on impossible :(

To Loctite, or not to Loctite?

I just thought I'd clarify why I only use one lockring. Firstly, it's difficult to torque down the axle lockring(s), due to the fact that the caged thrust bearings will be easily damaged if torqued down too much. Believe me, I just learnt the hard way. Balls everywhere  Secondly, it's...

To Loctite, or not to Loctite?

I've never used Loctite on bolts 1 and 2 or lockrings 3, as I can torque these down adequately to prevent them loosening. Where I do use Loctite (blue 242), is on the lockring that secures the axle inside the bottom bracket. Some members may have a large lockring and a small lockring, but I...
