    Sustrans Win!!

This is excellent news, especially as I bothered to vote! This is quite exciting for me as there is a proposed Connect2 project not more than 1 mile from my house that will provide all weather, all ability access to Watermead County Park, which in turn provides a traffic free route to the...

    Recumbent project

Really? Jeremy, You asked "I'd appreciate any feedback on my proposed build - feel free to tell me I've got it all wrong!" I don't want to be rude, but you want to spend many hours and at lot of money on going 4 miles a day? I've own recumbents in the past. Great machines but hills are a...

    Convince me to stay electric

My opinions OK, lets have some straight talking... - The Torq is a Chinese built bicycle with a whole list of owners with complaints on this forum - It is probably the market leader for one reason only - the derestricted speed - 6 years use = £2000 (Purchase price + 3 sets of batteries at...

How long do you expect to keep your bike?

What about other parts ...but what about other parts such as motors and motor controllers - which can very specific to one model from one manufacturer. They may fail at some point and certainly not as easily replaceable as batteries.

    Dog Days

It's flipping loud All my bikes are equipped with an Air Zound, "The Airzound 2 is powered by compressed air and recharged using a bike pump". Best pumped up with a track pump though, and good enough to scare off the odd erratic Transit. Great for stopping dead cars that are reversing out of...

Psst, wanna see some banned photos guv? Hey, thats a good idea Frank9755... oh, no just minute... you can see the same photos here anyway. Maybe I'll get to ride one when they have stock next. This is why it's described as "2008's most exciting electric bike". :D

    Hello! ..and what to select

Spot the difference Some statements: "These picture are nothing to do with the Torq Trekking" "Can you please remove these picture from the pedelecs website as these are not the correct ones for the Torq Trekking" Hmmm, look exactly the same to me.

Electric bike prices - ever increasing?

I've been following the electric bike market with increasing attention for about 3 years now. The interest was awakened by A to B magazine, my initial purpose for subscribing was a keen interest as to whick folder to buy. I bought a Riese Und Muller Birdy in January 2001. (BTW: if you don't...

    Green Slime Tyre Sealant

Hooray for Schwalbe! Quality tyres for the gentry! Just another positive report about Marathon Plus (I know, its getting boring isn't it?). Myself and a friend fitted these in January this year to our (non assisted) bikes, our combined commuting mileage since then is about 4500 miles. No...

    905se photograph link to china

Independent press reviews David, Thanks for info - the 905se Sport looks particularly interesting. What I'd like to see (and probably a lot of other people) is a review by A to B magazine. I know that a few manufacturers / importers are reluctant to do this as A to B can be hard on products...

    Hello! ..and what to select

Hi Flecc, With regard to roller brakes, I had a recumbent of Dutch origin in the past that was fitted with these front and rear (what else would you expect from the Dutch but sensible, low maintenance all weather brakes?), so I'm used to the the spongey feeling, but they always stop you! Hi...

    Hello! ..and what to select

I've finally test ridden a Torq. I visited 50cycles the other day. I can now believe the performance claims of the bike, this was a de-restricted example. The acceleration is excellent away from a standstill and when it gets up to speed it stays there. Assistance is needed from a standstill...

carrera electric bike now selling in halfords

I was in local Halfords the other day (its not somewhere I usually frequent mind you) and I saw the bike in question. It appears to be the SPARC system - I couldn't get to examine it much further as I had a stroppy 4 year old with me.

    Hello! ..and what to select

Hi Django, No eyes rolling here about 'feel'. Riding a bicycle isn't like sitting in a car, its an interactive experience involving all senses. You know your alive while riding a bicycle, the cold on your face, the noises around, a place to think... (you've got me a it now). As I suspected...

    Hello! ..and what to select

Thanks everyone, it's a great to have such knowledgle on tap. Those kind of MPH figures seem quite outlandish to me - I'm not doubting you at all, they just sound absolutely bonkers! ..and to think I was considering going over to the 'darkside' of a petrol powered Moped (too much red tape and...

    Hello! ..and what to select

Hello everyone, I must admit I've been lurking here for quite a while now. Keeping my ears and eyes open for what to get when the time came. I've been what many would consider a serious cycle user since 2000 when the second car was sold. For a quite a while I rode a recumbent, then a Birdy...
