Inded Biden hasn't abandoned them. It's the Republican right who are blocking the money Ukraine needs and what you say about Trump's intentions is very true. But Ukraine manpower pushing Russian militarists out of the way is sheer fantasy. Putin's Russia won't budge from Ukraine as the current situation shows. His holding what he's won is necessary to Putin's survival and he will do whatever is necessary to keep it.

Indeed Russia is no longer a super power, it never was. It was only the USSR that enabled that status while it existed.

And please, why that silly lie again that Putin believes in the Russian empire. He regrets the passing of the USSR but has no intention of trying to re-establish it, as his release of Georgia after conquering it in 2008 proved. He'll prove it again when an agreement is finally reached with Ukraine. The West will yet see Ukraine war free and independent, by agreement using the now Russian owned Azov and Black Sea ports to export its grain and minerals.

There seems to be a parallel between oil production and CO2 level.

So they downed a Russian drone but lost a whole city to the Russian army.
.
They are much braver than the Russians in view of the time they are fighting with far less ammunition.

They're not braver. They have no choice. They're conscripted into the army, put in a uniform, given a gun and transported to the front lines, where they're left to be target practice for the Russians. If they had a chance of running away, they probably would, but they figure that they have a greater chance of survival staying where they are.

The Russian side is helped by maga republicans stopping US military aids. Ukrainians did far better earlier on. If Biden is reelected, Putin will be forced to negotiate.

I fully agree. I wasn't criticising, just commenting on their reality of being heavily outnumbered and under resourced.

I just wish Zelensky could realise and accept that Russia is just on a pride trip with the rest of Donetz in Donbass they haven't seized yet. It's long been little more than just a few fields, let it go and stop squandering Ukrainian lives.

Donbass has long been a symbol to Russia and Putin , somewhere they've always insisted is theirs. Once they have that last bit, as they will, I'm convinced they will be only too willing to call a halt to the hostilities which are hurting them just as badly.

As hard as it will be for Ukraine to accept it, they will have to concede that they will never be able to take the losses back by force without the West joining in and starting WW3. But if they come to their senses, start talking with offering that little remaining bit of Donbass, they could well get other areas to the west of Ukraine conceded in return, together with access to the captured ports to resume all of their exports to start rebuilding their infrastructure and economy.

After all, the lands they've lost are of limited value and the whole desert of Crimea has never been of any use to them and historically never populated by them.

I think that Putin 's time is limited. He wouldn't have had the need of getting rid of Navalny otherwise. Sooner or later, change will come to Russia. There will be someone new in Russia that will see that negotiations are better than conscription. Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine don't have the same motivation.
I watched trump selling his gold painted sneakers to maga faithfuls then Biden's stirring speech at the new McCain's library in Arizona to political science students yesterday and also Nikki Haley's in SC. What a contrast. I reckon by May, trump is toast. The Reps will have to select someone else.

Oh dear! The sacrifices that all those guys made by driving round in a milk float to try and clean the air and save global warming going up in 900 tons of toxic smoke. I think it was mainly Nissan Leaf batteries.

They've been saying that for 2 years. Russia has never lost a war in their entire history, and they're not going to lose this one either.

that depends on what you call winning a war. It hasn't won in Ukraine.

Which maga Repulicans is that?
Mike Johnson, leader of the house.
He is fearful of losing his job so he went to see Trump who wants Putin's help.
Trump told Rep representatives not to pass any law so Biden's administration is paralysed, regardless of America's interests. I can post YT videos of Biden's and Nikki Haley's speeches of yesterday if you want. They pretty sum up the takeover of the Reps by maga.

Not losing means winning or a draw last time I checked the meaning. I didn't say they'd won. I said they're not going to lose.
I'd say Russia is losing the economic war since Putin takes over. You probably have seen Jon Stewart satirical sketch of Carson at a Russian supermarket. As flecc said, Russia has huge natural reserves. Their people shouldn't live in poverty.

Sounds like you've been reading too much Guardian propaganda.

You can get the true situation on the battles and frontline changes here:
