Mind, so many people have had such a scare about the potential costs, our demand could seriously plummet. Albeit accompanied by great suffering, many deaths, etc.

Short term the subsidies will take care of that, but of course they cannot go on indefinitely. Longer term there are variables we have no control over. Global warming could become our best friend for a while.

For example, this year, with record temperatures being much milder than the previous one, meant my only fuel, electricity, being 12% less from January to April and 10% less over the eight months to date. No effort on my part, this was just due to the weather change. If this trend continues we could be ok, until the warming reaches undesirable levels.

Conversely though, climate change is threatening a total collapse of the Gulf Stream which could give us Norway's climate, a catastrophe for this country. Link

I agree. Seems she will appoint her supporters to every role. But, with less than a majority among MPs, she might struggle to avoid appointing some who are less that effusive in praise simply due top numbers. At least, lower down the ranks.

Only initially before they start thinking. That amount is only about £1000 per home per annum, but the prices are already up far more than that even before the planned October, January, April increases to come, to cope with the world market trend.

And of course this is assuming all the £100 billions gets to the customers. It never does of course, a fair slice will find its way into shareholders pockets in the usual manner.

On the flight check I looked at two flights were highlighted for Aberdeen. Johnson's, as you say. And the next was a RyanAir flight from Malaga. I did wonder as it had a lot of followers...

Same thing. Supposedly the benefit to go to the end consumer, but as I said, it won't. The way these big companies account, a proportionof it gets filtered to the shareholders.

Remember the Thames Water example I gave you long ago, divided into seven companies, each accounting separately and declaring profits, making it a nightmare to work out what goes where:

I think she is quite well enough. I'm sure that we are seeing is the Palace trying to keep her alive as long as possible, even to 100, though that is unlikely. Just as they did with Prince Philip.

Ever since the Queen Mother made it to 104 they've been trying to make longevity uniquely notable in British royalty, of value for tourism of course.

And of course given Charles' eccentric ways, she may also want to keep him off the throne as long as possible, even long enough at his 73 years for him to stand aside for William.
