As usual you miss the point
The EU does not control member nations actions, it never had that power, it can only help and advise.
As to not being able to make quick decisions? are you serious? ye gods are you actually saying we make them quicker here?
EU membership costs were a fraction of the benefits.
As to More vaccinations here in UK than EU
Based on all previous government boasts you need to put
"claimed" before the statement
By the way this is from the EU
https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/qanda_20_2467
"
How will logistics work? How will vaccines be distributed?

Logistics and transportation is a key aspect on which all Member States have to work, as emphasised in the Communication on preparedness for COVID-19 vaccination strategies and vaccine deployment of 15 October.

Delivery to national distribution hub(s) will be ensured by the manufacturers.

Further distribution to vaccination centres will be ensured by Member States, who will also be responsible for the vaccination of their population.
Think you miss point. What date did you have your first shot OG? Compare that to Hungary, France, Germany..
Notice you accepted shot organised by our useless Government?? You know, like at the head of the queu in front of entire world and then decry the very system that put you there.

Unless you are Germany. Same old EU, it's got the French disease. Spends months deciding on rules, a fortune implementing them... But then ignore them?? Great idea.
In mean time UK has started it's rollout. So has Israel, China, USA, etc etc. But the country having had most input into Biontech hasn't yet.??? I wonder why??

Areas in England are facing a postcode lottery for coronavirus jabs as 118 constituencies countrywide still await Covid-19 vaccine hubs.

Despite the first vaccines set to roll out tomorrow, figures have shown that a quarter of people in England live in a constituency with no vaccine centre, despite 697 centres which have already been set up in hospitals, GP practices and community buildings across England.

Despite at one point being the area with the highest rate of infections, Kingston upon Hull East and East Yorkshire are among the list, which features 188 constituencies out of the 533 in England.

The shocking news comes as the NHS ramp up their immunisation programme following the approval of the Oxford AstraZeneca jab.
Useless Government? they are aren't they?
Note the fact that the NHS are in charge not the government, and they are struggling, but then after your so wonderful government has crippled them with indecision , underfunding and interference, they are doing the best they can.

This was on Jan 3, only a week ago, and the government have known for how many months this would be needed.
And all you can do is sing their praises. They rely on the support of the easily deluded to get away with criminal incompetence

And the other curious fact is I didn't get the Oxford vaccine, but the PfiserBiontech one. So much for the much vaunted rushed approval of the "home grown" product.
Didn't work out did it?

Can you post a link to that please Oyster...
There have been several verbal clarifications over the weeks. The mobility issue would likely include someone who is totally unable to walk (or whatever) locally but not someone like partner who sometimes can, sometimes can't, and would not welcome the upsetting experience of being fined, arrested, or anything similar for getting in the car to go somewhere flat.

When can I leave home?

At alert level 4, you can only leave home if you have a “reasonable excuse”. The following are considered to be reasonable excuses for leaving home at alert level 4:

  • to exercise, alone or with members of your household or support bubble. This must be done locally unless there is a reason, such as a specific health condition or mobility issue, that would require driving to the nearest convenient, accessible location. .

anyone can claim key worker status on religious grounds, parents are not questioned if religion is mentioned???)
Same as lockdown in March

"Key public services
Those required to run the justice system, religious staff, as well as those responsible for managing the deceased, and journalists providing public service broadcasting."

(Farage played on that and appointed himself as a key worker 'journalist' so he he drive around recording himself)

March

Wales has not done well in terms of numbers vaccinated so far. However, they have been abundantly clear that they recognise the issues and are doing everything they can to address them.

Doesnt say that on Government site.
Doesn't say anything about not driving.

Trouble is we can interpret things as we see fit. Going on number of cars out in Derbyshire around Lady Bower I, d guess folk in Sheffield have interpreted it you can drive to exercise? (BTW I, m not, staying local, couldn't get parked in Derbyshire)

The certified death rate in the UK is running at at least 3 times that of other EU countries as is the certified infection rate. If there was any country in Europe which needed to jump the que, it was the UK . Note you actually have no credible evidence that Germany is que jumping.

It wouldn't say that on the government site - as you refer to it.

We have a different government here! So it is on the Welsh government's site.
Screenshot_20210110_113628.jpg

Problem is it ends up a personal interpretation.

I can assure you beaches and national parks in England are packed, busier during lockdown than any other time.
But how many actually get infected out walking???
I, m I actually putting anyone at risk going windsurfing, well any more than normal, actually no, but it offends some folk.???
Too cold anyway so no problem. Stick to emtb and offending folk locally who for some reason find cycling during lockdown offensive. Yes, some do..

EU covid death rate as of 7/1/21
Screenshot_20210110_114436.jpg

UK somewhere between France and Italy.
Variations are inevitable owing to inconsistencies in recording. All terrible and suspect geopolitical /social/demographic differences will all play a part along with how government handle crisis. We won't know for 20 years why some areas perform worse/different/better than others. Unless of course you are a poster on here.

Rate is not totals... Numbers per day, numbers per week is a rate. Incidentally I gave up having any faith in the UKs totals when it was apparent that they only include deaths within 28 days of intial CV19 diagnosis. Which is why I qualified it with the word certified

Interestingly just come off phone to friends in Ireland.. They are in their late 70s,one with quite severe underlying problems and hence in high risk group. They aren't expecting vaccine until April at earliest and as yet know of nobody having received vaccine.
PS
I thought you, d know more about number of deaths than anybody else.
On a direct comparison with Italy (who use same time criteria) they have recorded 78,056 deaths and UK 80,005..(source Worldometer coronavirus statistics).
Perhaps Danidl you should contact them and inform Worldometer they are out by a factor of 3 on UK figures. I, m sure you have the stats to back it up.
Rates become totals when figures are Totalled, clue is in the word Danidl.
But yes our current rate is terrible. Totals go up daily though.

Starmer is on Marr right now, completing the destruction of the Labour party and merging it with the Conservatives.
Millions of us are now facing living in a one party state devoted to Brexit.
There have been some really bad decisions, he has made the mother of them all.
Well Corbyn didn’t leave him much work to do if that is the case.

I think Starmer offers some hope of an alternative to voting Conservative.

Corbyn was always going to fail. His policies inevitably result in such a government running out of other people’s money and assets to give away. The man is a clown, just like his anti-lockdown, anti-mask and anti-vaccine brother.

The U.K. has not done well and is not doing well at the moment. However, we must hope that our government don’t screw up the vaccine and that they hand the job over to grownups to do it for them.

he misuses his office to build a private army, undermines and endangers the US parliament, and incites the violent attack on the Capitol.
Can you be more specific? That's just rhetoric.

Where's his private army? Is this it?

Wasn't Trump still making his speech while the building was invaded and telling the crowd not to do anything unlawful. Then when he heard about it, he said, "Go home and be safe". Some are saying that he knew about the planned invasion, which is why he extended his speech and kept the crowd away from the building.

Have you seen the videos of the police removing barriers and inviting the crowds in, then the crowd walking around the building between the ropes like they're on a public tour? Normally, the building would have had enhanced security when an event like that was happening right next to it, but apparently someone in charge told them not to bother.

4 people were killed or died during the incident. The girl was shot in cold blood while surrounded by police who were escorting her group of only a few people through the building. That's not disputed. The videos are absolutely clear. One of the protesters managed to taser himself in the chest and died of a heart attack. A young guy was scaling a 30ft vertical wall to a balcony. When he got to the top, a policeman punched him back down, so he fell to his death. A policeman died at the station after he'd received some sort of injury. His cause of death hasn't been published, but his injury wasn'ton the surface bad enough to take him to hospital.

This wasn't an insurrection. The people you can see smashing the windows were all dressed in black, like ninjas, not the regular crowd of Trump supporters. There are different theories for who they were and why they did it from both sides, but if you accept that the security was reduced and the police were told to stand down or help the guys in, it's not likely to be the Trump side.

Entire world hasn't done well. WHO, and everyone else, has known for years this scenario was possible. Its been a systematic failure at every level.
There should be systems in place to shut all travel down at short notice, instead many buried their heads in sand and hoped.
What has WHO actually done throughout. In a way its a god send Covid has such a low death rate. Let's hope the World wakes up and introduces systems to prevent this happening again. Its terrible, but could easily have been far far worse. If things don't change this will happen again.

no, his army marched to Capitol Hill last week demanding the scalp of Mike Pence and jail for any RINO senators that did not support reversing election result.

I wonder how the Capitol riots would have been handled had it been BLM rioters??
Troops and helicopter gunships I suspect.
Trump is a danger to democracy. He is the equivalent of Hitler in 1932 and Munich. He was voted in. Fine, we all make mistakes.
He was voted out. Leave. End of.
