Probably cause we are surrounded by water with cold air drifting down from the north and warm up from the south, lots of precipitation etc, those Tornados are only tiny though. I saw a small one many years ago in Westbury I think it was whilst on a train, It was sucking all the dust up from farm fields as it moved across.

From that link:
During that period the country experienced an average of 34 tornadoes every year.

Whereas...
An average of 132 tornadoes touch Texas soil each year. The annual total varies considerably, and certain areas are struck more often than others. Tornadoes occur with greatest frequency in the Red River Valley of North Texas.

Certainly seems more likely, can't imagine how Manchester University arrived at their conclusion, but I remember it getting a lot of publicity when it was first announced a few years ago. Strange that it wasn't challenged then.

But of course the Texas numbers might be Trump facts. ;)

Maybe if we worked it out as tornadoes per square mile?

Texas is BIG!

You come over as if you actually believe that poor people need your help, but they are too stupid realise it:) Here’s a news flash, nobody needs your help, nobody gives a **** who you are and if you disappear, it will make **** all difference. So, if you are so disgusted by the U.K., go somewhere else and make no difference there.
Oh Dear, and after the damaging way you have cast your votes, you come out with this?
no it is all bs death = profit in the usa nuke china asap ! just do it! :p

What a genius, perhaps you should try hunting a tiger with an air pistol?

What an attitude, don't criticise to try to correct what's wrong, just get rid of the critics to protect and preserve what's wrong.

Probably why the UK is trailing in so many issues, not just Covid-19.
.
I think you are right and I’m wrong on this one. I don’t agree with him, but I do like to hear other opinions. It’s essential.

Given this evidence regarding how inept the government is, how can anyone, anywhere, possible believe that they will make a good & successful job of Brexit?

In fact, inept isn’t the right word, it doesn’t adequately describe how badly the government is performing. The terrifying thing is that Matt Handcock stands at the podium, waving his arms around & applauding himself, set against a backdrop of nearly 70000 dead.

As we get closer to No Deal is some common sense finally staring to emerge from this government.
Does this mean that stuff coming in from the EU will be waved through tariff free because it’s difficult to check, and we’ve got nobody clever enough to work out how to do it? But our stuff going into the EU will be checked and subject to tariffs, because they are clever and can work it out?

This sounds like another instalment of the COVID Franchise:- Coronavirus 2 The Massive Trade Fuckup. Featuring Alok Sharma & Directed by Boris Johnson.

Have you noticed he can't say the words up or down now without moving his right arm up or down even when up or down is related to something totally different to CV.

I bet there are times when he thinks to himself why on earth did I agree to join BJs shambles cabinet. I could have had a nice cushy number like Jeremy Hunt, heading up some parliamentary committee. Get to ask the Government some awkward questions, make myself look a hero and land myself some profitable directorships when all this is over.
