Corbyn cared more about shaping the Labour party away from the 'pink tories' among their ranks than winning power.
I do hope Starmer is more practical and work with soft conservative MPs to put up a more credible alternative to this government.
Starmer is very much a traditional Labour socialist, being brought up as one and in office supporting all of Corbyn's policies. As the DPP he wasn't at all flexible, more dictatorial in the David Blunkett mould.

I don't mind socialists, I don't mind conservatives.
I dislike politicians who have one track mind like MT and JC.
However, MT was flexible enough to work well with the EU throughout her time.
I couldn't think of who JC would have worked well with.

I've never quite understood this guy Banksy. if he painted his graffiti on my wall I'd pee over it then take a photograph of myself in action and sell it. The fortune it would make I'd give go to a local Charity that's dear to my heart. Honour satisfied all around.:)

There are millions, those who aren't brainwashed by smear campaigns

Corbyn was elected Labour leader in 2015. The party's membership increased sharply, both during the leadership campaign and following his election.

In the 2017 general election Labour increased its share of the vote to 40%, with Labour's 9.6% vote swing being its largest since the 1945 general election.

Corbyn received the Gandhi International Peace Award in 2013 and the Seán MacBride Peace Prize in 2017.

These make him second only to Clement Attlee as a Labour leader.

However, I'm delighted that it's the Tories who are suffering rule during Covid-19 and Brexit, it's the least they deserve.

Labour's membership did increase sharply but was it across the board? or was it because the rules were changed to allow 'registered supporters' to pay £3 to vote for who they like?

I saw Theresa Villiers on BBC News explaining Michael Gove's announcement.

When the BBC presenter mentioned Covid and the CBI, the Welsh and the Scottish governments asking for precisely the opposite, you will be pleased to learn that we won't extend the transition because that would stop us reaping the rewards of brexit!
When the BBC presenter asked which rewards? Villiers suggested that includes taking back control of our borders...
The way this government goes about the business of governing, I wonder if they could even take back control of our fish.

Makes you wonder why any of them play along...

England’s chief nurse, Ruth May, was dropped from one of Downing Street’s daily coronavirus briefings after refusing to publicly back Dominic Cummings’ behaviour during the lockdown, according to the Independent.

A senior NHS source was quoted as saying:

A No 10 Spad [special adviser] asked her directly how she would answer the Dominic Cummings question and she refused to play along and told them she would answer the same way as Jonathan Van-Tam. She was dropped immediately from the press briefing.

And the Tories don't use money to get elected?

It it comes down to honesty I'd vote for Corbyn over Johnson any day.

I would not like JC nor BJ to become PM
So I didn't vote at the last GE, I went to Spain that week.
A week after coming home, I got a severe cold, symptoms include headache, persistent dry cough and all food tasted like cardboard.

His social commentary through art is often brilliant, I think of him as being little short of genius and justly famous.
.
The man is an utter ******* ! I'm going out tonight with a pot of black paint, find a wall that belongs to someone else and paint on it a social statement ... can't wait.
I'll tell all the guys on here how it went the next day when the authorities have charged me with criminal damage.
Does this idiot have permission to make a mess on the wall when it suits him for his own gratification, if so he has my apologies ... and sympathy.

I don't mind any of that. Out of all the inadequates we've had foisted upon us in recent years, Starmer gives a glimmer of hope that he might be up to the job. Time will tell.

In the last election, it was a case of choosing which pale of shite you would rather dunk your head in. There wasn't really any choice, everything on offer was appalling.
