Mr Farage is a private citizen ,holding no public office. He should be issued with a summons . As a message to the wider public it would be salutary. He can claim in court his "exemptions"
He’s a radio talk show host / reporter and commentates on current issues happening around the country. He was gathering information about illegal immigration at the hotspot of Dover. He is allowed to travel as part of his job, so no prosecution is necessary. Just sayin’

. Actually I saw and listened last year to a set of bone conduction head phones in France. I am big into novelty and quirky science , but their audio performance was not enough to tempt me at80 euro..very mediocre in fact.
I'm not surprised, mainly suitable for very low frequencies.

Here's a story about tracking & tracing...I've been doing it for years ! About two years ago I sold a mobile phone on ebay, it was in excellent condition as my stuff always is and as I only switch on a mobile on when I want to use it, the battery was in good health too. A lady had purchased it and on receipt of said phone messaged me back to say how pleased she was with it, good news.

Then things got a bit odd...

Twenty four hours later I received a message from the purchaser asking if I had another phone like the one I'd sold her as hers was now gone ? I told her that was my personal mobile she'd bought so I had no more, but then went on to ask what had happened to mine she had.
She told me it had just disappeared gone, that was it so I messaged back again inquiring what she meant by 'gone'
She told me it was on her desk then the next minute it was gone, so I wondered if she'd mislaid it or maybe she was just crazy. This is a long story so i'll cut to the chase, I was determined to find out where her phone was so I set about using all sorts of technology I can get my hands on. I should point out at one time I was heavily involved in mobile phone firmware technology & reverse engineering so I know how a phone works.
I located that phone, in fact I even found the house it was sitting in and got a Google image of the place. Even though it had been tampered with I still tracked it down. I then messaged the buyer and asked if she had a friend or relative who lived at this house, she replied it was her sons place...Ahh. I advised her to look no further for her phone, that's all I said to her.....she never replied again.

No. He is a private citizen. That is the case he makes in court...

Nigel is a journalist/radio presenter (eg.on LBC).
He was in that capacity doing an article on the governmental run Taxi Service (Border Force), that is currently in operation in the Channel

Whatever. And I am the Irish correspondent on a global network called Pedelecs Forum , called upon periodically to correct the over exuberance of an NI correspondent. Neither of us can claim these as exemptions in law. The British Government ..your Government listed the essential services , a son of mine is listed on the Irish equivalent, and a daughter of mine on the UK and Irish lists.
As I said he can use his "exemption" as a defence in court.

Equally marvellous. I can be driving in my 10 year old diesel with a wonkly noisy gearbox ..one of the gears must have a chipped tooth , and I have the plushness and noise levels of a premium Rolls Royce.
Is it not illegal to drive wearing headphones (even if implemented as ear bud style)?

..It wasn't bad, just not good enough. A 15 euro Currys bought Jvc or Sony would have been the competition
I know where you are coming from, my excellent Beyer headphones cost over £250 in 1985, not NR of course.

The ONS inflation makes that around £763 today.

The AirPod pros are extraordinarily good, but at £250 per set they need to be. Very practical too, they charge in the storage case which has a battery in it. I’ve not had to charge the case yet and have charged the AirPods quite a few times.

I’m sure the internal mike is for the ANR and for the “leakage test”. As I mentioned earlier, my old flying hat had the microphones in the ear cups.
Am perfectly happy to believe that the microphone is for leakage testing, but I still want to know how they react in someone with objective tinnitus.

Then by your logic, we should prosecute all reporters and media presenters and let them argue their case for being in a particular area to report on a particular issue in court.
As usual your ability to be habitually wrong about most things persists.

Land of the free; home of the brave dead.

I guess, so long as those who die are democrat voters...

Donald Trump is effectively abandoning a public health strategy for the coronavirus pandemic and showing “clear willingness to trade lives for the Dow Jones”, critics say.

A leaked internal White House report predicts the daily death toll from the virus will reach about 3,000 on 1 June, almost double the current tally of about 1,750, the New York Times revealed on Monday.

Yet at the same time, Trump has scrapped daily coronavirus taskforce briefings and marginalised his medical experts in favour of economic officials flooding the airwaves to urge states to reopen for business – even amid rising infection rates.

Rick Wilson, a former Republican strategist, said:

They’ve decided in a very utilitarian kind of way that the political damage from a collapsed economy is greater than the political damage from losing as many as 90,000 more Americans just in June.
We’re witnessing the full-scale application of a kind of grisly realpolitik that is a clear willingness to trade lives for the Dow Jones.

Is is arguable that a press card would be reasonable initial proof of status.

I'll bet that farage would claim to be a journalist one minute, a politician the next, and anything else that worked to his advantage from time to time.

You are a ridiculous man who get nearly everything wrong. You are not employed as a reporter / talk show host on a national radio station. Nigel Farage is employed in this capacity by LBC, a national radio station. It is his job to research topics, present his findings on air and to then discuss / debate them with members of the public who phone in to his show. Farage was in Dover to gather information about illegal immigration for a forthcoming show. He had legitimate business in Dover in the same way as any other reporter has business with other news topics.

Try to get something right one day will you.

And given his overt racism, I doubt it's escaped his notice how vulnerable to Covid-19 BAME citizens are.

Two birds with one stone attitude perhaps, the economy and racial purity.

There is, I suppose, a distinction between advice being given, and advice being received and understood. Can you claim "I didn't get advised that ...." because it didn't penetrate your fontanelle?

(Well aware that this has been mentioned many times - this time we can see even more clearly how stupid it was.)

Boris Johnson boasted of shaking hands on day Sage warned not to

Advisers recommended issuing public warning on day PM said he shook hands ‘with everybody’ at hospital

.. yes I am aware of the November diagnosis in Wuhan. But it does beg the question and requires the evidence to be tested. There is no clear path back to China established as yet.
Rhinolophus affinis (horseshoe bat) Indian subcontinent, southern and central China and Southeast Asia and Manis javanica (pangolins) imported into Guangdong province contain coronaviruses similar to SARS-CoV-2. Both animals not common I'd guess in France.

Airlines were still flying then...

Hopefully they can identify the strain and see how related it was to early samples from China.

Up to date Graph of Genomic epidemiology of novel coronavirus

Here we go an early case in France closely related to Chinese originating strain (same as a red dot from Washington St - first death 21st Jan from a Chinese dervived strain)
