And of course the time to have acted was at the start, but that horse bolted long ago.
now we have to learn to live with it until the science catches up with the disease.
It may be 10 years into the future.

OK Hancock, we are actually interpreting your 100,000 tests aspiration not to be "capability", not to be achievable only by manipulation, and certainly not to include tests that are lost and not done properly:

Concerns over delays and errors at UK drive-in coronavirus test centres

Staff at one NHS trust have been told not to use the facilities after expansion of testing

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/apr/28/concerns-over-delays-and-errors-at-uk-drive-in-coronavirus-test-centres

Thank you so much, Serco, Deloitte and the other usual suspects.

that's what happens when the country is led by a useless pair whose education is mainly about ancient Greek (the useless ancient, dead language, not the useful modern day Greek) and ancient history (that's what Cummings excelled at).
No wonder they dream about changing the world but don't know how.

Buses here in town only have just the one door but you have to wait until everyone's stepped off before you step on, that's normal. From what I can see looking in the distance Bus drivers don't seem to be wearing masks, also from what I can gather still handle money.

I'm hearing of test results taking 25 days to come through. What's the point of that?

And Boris Johnson stod on the steps of Number 10 yesterday and declared that we were being successful in the fight against Coronavirus. With over 40000 people dead and possibly the worst record in the world for dealing with Coronavirus, what kind of "success" is that?

Handcock is going to be the fall guy here. I give him 14 days.

I agree. That's the only way.
It's like Japanese knotweed, don't just nip it. Eradicate it. Annihilate it.
Kings Castle has stood guard protecting the residents of Ardglass for centuries.

Now a private nursing home, it is free from coronavirus after it was closed down to all visitors before Mother's Day.

The Department of Health guidance to all care homes to ban visitors didn't come until almost a fortnight later.

The charts shows that the U.K. is by far the worst country in the world in terms of death from coronavirus and for dealing with it. Amanda from Hull is given an opportunity to question the government about this. What does she ask? A question about her ******* grand kids. ****.

OG, nip round to Amanda’s house and kick her in the ****.

By which time we may have achieved herd immunity!

The economy will be easier to manage with a record low number of old age pensions and far less disability support payments to make. The loss of older people will also ease the NHS and care homes workload, leading to further savings. The shortage of workers will ensure high employment levels so again reducing the social security bill.

And Soundwave will be able to post:

"Told you so!" :p

When they display the graph which shows the percentage of critical care capacity in use, does that include the Nightingale beds which have no medical staff to service them?

I think I’ve just witnessed the death of Handcock.

Asked if he would apologise for the high number of deaths in care homes, given that the government were warned, that they were told they needed to do testing and that PPE would be an issue, they did nothing. Handcock said it wasn’t a fair question.

Not a good response.

Something tells me that the New Scientist journalist won’t be invited back to Downing Street. How dare he ask searching questions.

British Airways sacking 12000 staff! I wonder if China will start snapping up U.K. companies now they have crippled them with Coronavirus?

In his position I would have responded

"It's not fair criticising the monkey for the tune
Go and complain to the Organ Grinder!"

I would not be as pessimistic as that. The future starts now. Isolate, identify clusters , then irradicate that cluster . It could be done, geographically parish or ward by ward . But lockdown without the identification of carriers is just delaying
