I think we can do better out though. I think unless we join the Euro we will always be on the outside looking so lets just get on with it.

We won't lose any of the achievements you list above.

Galileo maybe but that sums up the EU for me.

Too many people go to university these days.

We won more Olympic medals before we joined the EU.

The 'gig' economy hides a lot of horrors.
I do wonder if a anyone really buys this fake persona of yours ;>)

what is the point of calling each other with words like that?
I would guess the following

There is a shortage of suitable adjectives to respond adequately to deliberate hostility and provocative statements in a positive light? and therefore vernacular words more generally used tend to be pressed into service?

"With all due respect" doesn't seem to have the resonance required when dealing with posters who's intent is not to debate but to irritate and disrupt the thread

One shouldn't denigrate them on the basis they are only behaving in a way natural to them and wouldn't grasp the concept anyway.
And they appear to sincerely believe that they are in the service of one of the Leave factions, hence the tranch of propaganda they employ
Noticeably only old material.

On the credit side they do wonders for keeping the thread hit rates high.
The entertainment value of watching them squirm when trying to engage in debate ensures that theres always something silly and pointless to read every day.

They have been as beneficial in that sense as Cambridge Analytica was to the leave vote turnout.

Slow down. I'm not going anywhere. I will read what you post if I can understand it and it doesn't contain lies.

That is a promise.

Now go back and try again. But this time use English.

You are a comic are't you?

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine!!

I urge you to calm down though. I am having trouble understanding your terrible syntax and sentence forming as you mash away on your keyboard.

Lol. You are quite sweet when you stop the lying and speak from the heart though.

Keep it up!
This is such a pathetic attempt at a put down you should Blush, did you manage it all on your own?
Great comedy entry though

That was 50 years ago! We used to win Eurovision in those days too. What has that got to with now?

Get a grip ffs
Well you actually won it a total of 5 times ,the last in 97,.. perhaps you were reflecting in the glory of Ireland's 7 in the same period. Unless of course, you were including your wifes results in the WE .
The best of thise 5 was " Puppet on a string" , wriiten by a Derryman.

We can have Galileo's full facilities if we continue to pay our share of the running costs, that isn't unreasonable. Wanting it free is.

Agreed, but it doesn't alter the fact that there's more educational attainment since joining the EU

We won more Olympic medals before we joined the EU.
Not true, we peaked in 2016 with 67 medals including 27 golds. Pre EU years generally had far lower totals. The only year in all the 110 years that we won more was way back in the 1908 London games which was a freak year. It was the first year that medals were awarded and the games only switched to London belatedly since Mount Vesuvius erupted, causing the venue change and not all competing.

That isn't exactly what I was listening to in 1976, especially in London... I'm not even sure I knew there was a eurovision at that time? Oh yeah I watched TV, I even accidentally saw the infamous Sex Pistols interview on the Beeb.

We are not allowed the codes. Only EU members can access those.

There are more people around now so of course. You can argue it was better before when it was a grant based system.

We won 480 medals pre EU days. 371 after.

That is just being silly, there were many more years pre EU than since and you appear to have included the freak year which greatly distorts. Only the achievement in each individual games counts and the EU years contain many higher scores than previously.

And not only that, more misleading figures too. The number of medals won in the 24 games during our European membership years from 1972 to 2018 inclusive was 474 not 371.

And just look where some of them were born:

Everything about Bradley Wiggins is so quintessentially British. But, alas, our hero on two wheels was born in Ghent, Belgium, to an Australian father who was based in the Flemish outback.

Gasp! Born in the EU! I chose a cyclist because that is what we are here for after all, bikes.

Pardon? Oh yes Mister Froome is also an import...

LOL!

You cant have 1972. We joined in 1973.

Even if it was 474, which it isn't. its 371. You are still wrong. Cheeky young scamp!

Also there are many, many more events and medals available in the modern era. There were 110 events in 1908. There were 302 in 2012.

You can even have every medal we've ever won in the Winter Olympics and your'e still woefully short.

Who did they win medals for?

Maybe you should have a look at the '98 French World Cup winning team and where their parents were from?

Is that how you do it? Or is that rule only for participants from the UK?

Thought so.

Still not true, even leaving off 1972 it's 456 in 1973 to 2018, not 371. Count up the totals of the 23 games in the list I posted for you.

Against that 456 in 23 games, in the 23 games before 1973 there were 266 medals won, that's over 42% less.

No matter how many ways you try to distort this, you are still wrong as the list clearly shows. We've done much better since being in the EU.
