You really do wear blinkers, either you haven't read my posts or don't understand what's written. It's not about money, only about practicality as it affects certain smallest businesses. Nor is it about the maternity law that I'm well aware of. It's about who one employs and the law supports my position for those same practical reasons.

But this ends this discussion, I'm not prepared to argue with someone on a PC pedestal who is incapable of being rational.
.
That's a good one from you but I don't blame you for it being your last comment. You are defending a lost cause and showing your true colours.

Yes, I got mine on the 21st November, about nine days earlier than most years.

Good, good..

this was something along with the pension triple lock that the Tories had down for major change or cutting altogether,

thankfully however along came the DUP..

The Tories have dropped changes to the triple lock for pensions and winter fuel payments in order to secure a deal for a with the Northern Irish DUP for a working majority.

as you warm your toes in front of the fire this winter maybe a Christmas card off to those nice folk at dup hq??!

it goes to show that the FOM is very misunderstood in the UK. It's not an automatic right to free abode, just a right to look for work, accept a job and build a life, unless you are already a pensioner then you need to prove you have the means of self support and healthcare certificate. That lady should know that the French authorities will check everything she claims. If she says she is self employed, where is her pension contribution receipt? If she says she lives in France, where are her EDF's bills? etc.

Lady .. was being either obtruse ,untrue, or very lazy. She can get a bank statement from her bank at any time. Indeed she can get her current balance instantly. And if she is self employed, she has her statements of tax and income from previous years, and or her accountants
I had the feeling your second reason might be the right answer... I think she is desperate to get French residency before next March. Anyone can say they are auto-entrepreneur and that they are waiting for their inscription number and the papers and tada-tada. Faux factures (false bills if you wish) I have done myself to get trade discounts on stuff...

Oh and you definitely speak and understand better French than her. I know we don't know each other in person but my GF's cat speaks better French :D I didn't know who to have the most pity for, her or the woman dealing with her.

Those were the questions being asked. "You need a social security number" was repeated about five times without being understood! One doesn't just jump in and offer to be an interpreter at the prefecture but I was tempted.

Earlier Mr Corbyn told ITV's mid-morning chat show Mrs May would lose 11 December's vote but "nobody is going to allow no-deal".

The Labour leader said his focus was on forcing a general election - and he conceded that it might take "some time" for an incoming Labour government to negotiate a fresh Brexit deal with Brussels - possibly up to two years.

So many are now BOB (bored of Brexit) that 2 years of Brexit few could stomach and what happens to the country in the meantime.
If we have a second referendum BOBS are going to have to vote Remain, for voting Leave would be minimum 3 years of the same, maybe 10 years, going by how long other trade deals have taken.
IF YOU ARE BORED WITH BREXIT VOTE REMAIN.

No deal means Labour will ultimately vote with TM.
it's the withdrawal deal that they are going to vote on the 11th. That deal cannot happen without some guarantee given to the Irish and Spaniards, a point that Labour's Rebecca Long Bailey objected to in last night's QT.
Nothing will stop Labour, if they win the next GE, to seek a Norway type deal.

I reckon when they have to vote on it the second time - sometime in January, Labour will vote with TM.

Did you see the French are starting to say "Hey! We haven't asked for Guernsey and Jersey back since 1825, now might be the time to have another go." :)

For those unable to read the cartoon in the Irish times , today.
It depicts a "End of the World " placard carrying man, explaining to the Dole office (unemployment benefit) as he is signing on. " I just could not compete with market forces "
The background showing. ... Economic forecasts from Bank of England and the Economic Forecasting section..

Why not?

that's one reason EFTA membership is better than TM's deal.

Why would Labour vote with TM,she is never going to pass their 6 tests.....Corbyn has TM on the ropes she is going to have to make a decision between no-deal and a second referendum,if Corbyn makes no-deal impossible then where else can she go.
He may call for a vote of no confidence, but he needs 2/3 rd majority to get a GE. If Corbyn fails to isolate no-deal,I can see May going for no-deal(the default option),she would keep the nasty Brexiteers happy and maybe she could resign on April 1 (April fools day) and let Boris or Gove or JRM take the grief....after all she could say she has delivered Brexit and in the form that Brexiters wanted...
There was a lady on Question Time who thought that we should go for no-deal because that was our best position to quickly achieving an FTA....she may be right, the EU would lose just as badly as we will and they would be pushed by the likes of BMW to do something....at least under WTO it would be mainly food that would be tariff affected and the people vho voted Brexit should be prepared to pay for it.

The head of the WTO also commented on the possibility of a no-deal Brexit.

"If there is what some people call a 'hard Brexit', with no agreement whatsoever, I would say about half of the UK trade would not be affected, because WTO terms are already what applies. In trade with the US, China, Japan, Brazil, Mexico - those terms will not change."

"But of course almost half of trade that is conducted with the UK is with the European Union. So it all depends on the margin of preference and the tariffs that would apply once Brexit comes into effect."

Yes it is. To translate, the economic indicators are so bad that they outdo the end of the world as a bad prospect, rendering his placard pointless and meaning the latter is preferable to Brexit.
.

Ho ho ho those cheeky Irish!
