Worse, from our point of view they "may" using the parlance of the Express
"Not give a toss" and have plans to cover the cost.

Remind me which country has the largest household debt (other than mortgages) in the EU? With all the UK banks rushing to set up offices in Frankfurt and Paris I can't see financial services being much of a problem here.

the truth is that they have been reminding us what will happen from day one.

In draft negotiating guidelines unveiled on Wednesday, the bloc ruled out the “mutual recognition” of standards between the UK and EU as proposed by the Prime Minister in her Mansion House speech just last week.

The six-page document, which will instruct EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier on how to deal with the UK in the next phase of talks, also rules out British membership of EU regulators such as the European Medicines Agency after Brexit – directly rebuffing the Prime Minister.

'Brexit' is just one step towards them achieving their goal - it opens the door to removing all the hard-won rights, both human and employment in particular, gained through collective bargaining and consolidated in law, not only in the UK but in part by the European Court and by the United Nations.

'Brexit' or no 'Brexit' there will always be companies that fail for one reason or another but there does seem to have been an increase in the number of well-known businesses of late going into administration.

My belief is that, while we Brits will make the best of any dire situation relying on that 'Blitz spirit', stiff upper lip and stoicism we are noted for, an awful lot of complete idiots who thought and continue to believe that Farage & Co were representing them while articulating a vision of a return to 1950 Britain ordinary folk are going to rue the day they voted for 'Brexit' and voted tory in the last GE.

Maybe these are not the most important statements to come out of the business community recently but I believe the stark message is there for all to see if those who haven't yet got the message just remove the blinkers or rose-coloured eyewear:

The European Commission has written to the UK government saying the UK owes €2.7bn (£2.4bn) in customs duties on shoes and textiles imported from China.

The UK is accused of doing too little to prevent fraud after it was warned about the problem by the EU's watchdog Olaf in 2017.

It begins a legal process which could end at the European Court of Justice.

HM Revenue and Customs said last year they planned to challenge Olaf's earlier claims about lost revenues.

The Olaf investigation said the UK was a "significant hub" for so-called undervaluation fraud - where importers can profit from evading customs duties and related taxes.

The investigation found organised crime groups had been using fake invoices to undervalue goods being imported from China - many of which were destined for the black market in other parts of the EU, investigators claimed.

Olaf have said they had warned HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) a number of times.

When the issue was raised last year a spokesman for HMRC said: "This is not a bill, it is Olaf's estimate of evaded duty, and not one that is recognised by our experts who will be challenging Olaf on their calculations."

This was inevitable,it is the result of laziness on the part of HMRC,accepting the invoice values without doing any physical checks.
I think the EU will win this action and HMRC have to cough up.
What is amusing is that TM is asking the EU to trust us on collecting tariff after Brexit,hehe!!!!

I looked up this Closed group out of interest and the fact it was closed posed obvious questions.

1. How did the Sun gain access to the posts therein?
2. What was to stop some character joining such a group under false pretenses to either gain propaganda material, or worse post some themselves?
3. How will the Sun prove the truth of it's allegations? they are based only on the suggestions of a Blogger.

Miriam Shaviv referred in the Jewish Chronicle of 8 January 2016 to the 'widespread dissatisfaction with the visibility of the Board during Operation Protective Edge in 2014 leading to the formation of the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism'. Protective Edge was the name given to the attack by Israel on the Palestinians in Gaza, during which over 2,200 Palestinians were killed, including 551 children.

There seems to be a case of double standards, the Sun would do far better not to leap on the back of any Nut job's Blogs as a reliable source of even "Fake" news!
