this is our circus and if we don't like it we can get rid, unlike the eu where we have no power at all. We have never been comfortable with it but over the years have been dragged deeper into it against our will. today is long overdue and I don't share your pessimistic doom laden view of the future of the UK

this is our circus and if we don't like it we can get rid, unlike the eu where we have no power at all. Who is this we you are referring to? and are you aware that all EU laws were made with us taking part in forming them, and they could not be ratified without our approval? We could veto them and often did.They have all been approved by our elected Government.
Where then does this idea of no power at all over them come from? and what have we been dragged into when we opted out of the Euro and Shengen?
You are not making sense, do please check the facts, they are not at all what you have been led to believe.
By the way i am actually optimistic about the future, as it will almost certainly end with us either trying to get back in, or adopting the Norway position.
I recommend you go and look that up,rather than have me explain it, as you will not believe what we have just done makes sense, and have wilfully thrown away at a great disadvantage to ourselves.
Now we have no power in the EU, yet we need it more than ever.
