Big Lizzie's location is top secret, says MoD (But anyone - including Mr Putin - can track her on this FREE smartphone app!)

  • This is despite Ministry of Defence saying it was only 'somewhere in North Sea'

I voted Labour , which was a waste of time on 2 accounts.
1) The biggy. They lost.

And 2 . Like I keep repeating
They have exact same policy on Brexit. ( well so we believe, who knows with JC)
I used my democratic right of protest by voting. Whittering and whining in here makes not a jot of difference, but then again neither did voting for labour.
Does that mean you are going to stop "Whittering and whining on here?"
Don't do that, we will have to hire a replacement .
(On a Zero Hours contract at that!)

The Big news is we are taking back control of our territorial waters
"
UK to withdraw from international fishing arrangement"

so now all we need is outlined in this documentary

There are of course a couple of flies in this particular ointment
  1. We no longer have a Fishing fleet
  2. We don't have more that a paltry three patrol boats to enforce it on 7500 miles of coast.
  3. Withdrawing from the convention, which was signed in 1964 before the UK joined what became the EU, means UK vessels will also lose the right to fish in waters six to 12 nautical miles offshore of the other countries.
Bit of a joke really, what killed fishing wasn't the loss of the inshore waters, but those off Iceland
What this will mean for some years is a shortage of fish, as we are relying on Foreign Boats to bring it to us!
Added to that the cost of rebuilding the inshore fishing fleet and Patrol Boats will be passed on the Public.
Finally, how long before we fish out the stocks once again?

the amount of fish we allow to EU fishermen in the convention is tiny in any case.
10,000 tonnes, £16 million worth compared to UK landing of 708,000 tonnes.
The UK fishing industry is tiny too, worth less than £1 billion a year.

And of course this has nothing to do with Brexit as it was concluded long before we joined the common market.

We the consumer will end up paying more for Fish!
And restrictions on fishing will still have to apply to control the stocks.
Just another con that will backfire on us.

This BBC article covers the pro and cons
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38345826
What complicates the picture is the fact the most commercial fish stocks are in waters that are shared between the UK and other EU coastal states. The vast majority of UK fish are exported, mainly to the EU while a significant proportion of the fish that British consumers eat is imported, often from EU states.

"A successful industry," the report says, "therefore needs continued market access."

Why would Labour wreck business?

Surely a decent pay packet encourages people to work hard and the money goes back into the economy when people are able to afford to spend on things, the low wage economy that the Tories want helps no one.

There is also that myth that the Tories are the best party for the economy, its a blatant lie, our economy is worse under the Tories.
Labour wants to restore corporation tax back to 26%, this is really a political move more than a practical one. It's a fact that lower corporation taxes reveal a bigger tax take because....
Big corporations seek to reveal their profits in countries with low corporation tax....look at Ireland.
Companies invest more money if it is available and not sucked away by tax take,we need desperately investment to improve profitability.
Businesses spend less effort on avoiding tax when the tax rate is lower.

If CT is such an essential consideration, companies would have moved the HQ to places like Isle of Man, Guernsey, BVI.
In reality, only companies owned by expat billionaires would do this, most PLCs don't run away from high rates of CT because they issue tax vouchers with dividend payments for their shareholders to offset against their income tax.

26% is the right rate, competitive against Germany (30%-33%), France (33%), the US (35%), Japan (24%).

It is rare to find anyone who now considers Brexit a good idea but most think it is not reversible and accept it as a done deal.
I remember the guy who invented Article 50 (an English guy), said it was reversible.
It's just difficult to see who would have the nerve to stand up and shout...BREXIT IS A BAD IDEA,WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE POORER AND WE SHOULD FORGET ABOUT IT.....May wouldn't dare,Corbyn wouldn't dare......Hammond??????

only a coalition government would want to risk a second referendum.
Any single party will split on brexit.

In light of recent Grenfell tower tragedy this news is extremely disturbing

Large blaze breaks out at brand new block of £1million flats in East London 'after solar panels catch fire'

http://video.dailymail.co.uk/preview/mol/2017/07/02/2864086522836304500/636x382_MP4_2864086522836304500.mp4

And the panels are not right next to each other, but they are all ablaze!
More details here

These panels are being fitted all over the country including of course where i live, fortunately not on my roof.

You have to wonder how such designs get into the market place.

From the Telegraph and an idiot named
Charles orton Jones
"
The EU is taking over Europe's taxation and forming an army. Thank God Britain is leaving "

Now how does this fool think that will help?
While inside the EU we could have either opposed this happening and contributed to it.
Now we face what could be a Formidable and not necessarily friendly army across the channel.
This man shows that you that it is possible to become
" The former Professional Publishers Association Business Journalist of the Year, he was editor-at-large of LondonlovesBusiness.com ..."
And have absolutely no strategic sense whatsoever, to applaud running away rather than oppose or join a European Army

From the Independent
Parties must work together on Brexit policy for the best possible outcome, says Andrea Leadsom
The Commons Leader is the latest figure to call for a cross-party approach to Brexit, asking MPs to show prove that ‘there is more to our politics than just pessimistic bickering’

Unless that means we drop the idea of Brexit, Corbyn would be well advised to fight shy of this and let the Conservatives have all the Glory.

Brexit......even Gove has stopped talking about the advantages of Brexit,it seems the new talk is damage limitation, like 'it won't be as bad as others say'.....like telling your wife you want to paint the house red.....can we paint it white again, maybe but scraping the red off would be a hell of a job......then why paint it red, well I want to do it and who knows it may look ok and anyway I've bought the paint,so it's a done deal.....sod off, leave it white.....yes dear.

Wasn't Leadsom rejected in favour of May, because Leadsom was deemed too extreme Brexit and May would be more unifying.
Things didn't work out that way.
