So now the Queen's speech has been delayed or postponed......perhaps the dear old lady is feeling a little under the weather. Or perhaps there is a more significant reason??

Tom
Such as for instance.
"We are not amused?" or perhaps the answer is here somewhere

Now that is a quotable one
"Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble. If I stay it will be double."

Or could this be the true reason for the delay?

Thinking of scrapping the election and the whole sodding lot of them with it and returning to Absolute Monarchy. Who's in? #GE2017

One can confirm that the last person to enter Parliament with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes. #BonfireNight

EU nurse applicants drop by 96% since Brexit vote

There has been a sharp drop in the number of nurses registering to work in the UK since the EU referendum, figures suggest.
Last July, 1,304 nurses from the EU joined the Nursing and Midwifery Council register, compared to 46 in April this year, a fall of 96%.
The Health Foundation said the findings could not be more stark and said they should act as a "wake-up call".

Bedpan waiting times will go up as the brexit **** begins to hit the fan...

Dire news indeed and we are heading into a disaster, however a word of caution is in order.
For goodness sake keep the reference to Fans to yourself or Hunt will be installing them to replace bedpans!

Have just read that one of the reasons the Queens speech has been delayed it that it has to be written on goat skin ( vellum) and this takes a few days to prepare and dry.
When I read this I checked that it wasn't April 1. Some poor goat is currently being fleeced and scudded.
Or maybe the Tories have found a source within No 10,hehe.

may be not.

if the result of the election is indeed the death of hard brexit then things will get better. Mark my word, the City will rejoice.

calf skin?
The way they stated it appeared to say no animal involved. Calf is one of the skins used for parchment, though strictly speaking it's then called vellum.

I believe that for the Queen's speech, the parchment will be made from goatskin to be consistent with the centuries of previous stored Kings/Queens speeches. No paper reliably lasts long enough.

As usual they're blethering shite. The election date was known for ages and no matter who won, they'd have still needed that goat's skin. ;)

Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn and Nicola Sturgeon all need to resign. They all claim to have won something and they all actually lost something.

The only acknowledged winners were the DUP and the only acknowledged losers were UKIP. At least Paul Nutcase had the decency to resign.

Wrongly, for if they imagine the 48% have given up they are no wiser than Mrs May
Conveniently ignoring and denying our existence has become something of a mantra with the politicians, this will prove a disastrous error before too long, when the true horror of the consequences of brexit hits the public consciousness and its standard of living.
Woe betide them then.

It's apparently not the availability of the skin but the ink drying time in leather before it can be handled, very much longer.

They don't use the usual modern water based ink since it fades, they have to use traditional composition inks.

if the tories try to go for no deal or a hard brexit, they won't have the majority to pass it in 18 months time. There will be fresh election.
I wonder if a new government can then pull out of A50?

Basically the real reason is that she can't get the speech ready until she's sure she's given the DUP what they're asking for.

Is Brexit a giant STITCH-UP? EU talks DELAY as Tories say we SHOULD stay in single market
THE long-awaited start of Brexit talks next Monday is now likely to be "indefinitely" postponed in the wake of Britain's shambolic general election.
Prime Minister Theresa May's hopes for a solid start to major negotiations were left shattered after she lost her Commons majority.

While official communications between Britain and Brussels has remained open, senior EU officials said it looks increasingly unlikely that any "substantial" talks will begin until Mrs May has a more secure government in place - which many believe will never happen.

It came as several senior Tories, led by Scottish Conservative Leader Ruth Davidson, openly said Britain should now seek to remain in the EU single market and KEEP freedom of movement.

It was the first concrete sign that Brexit is being deliberately delayed, or worse, as part of a broader political agenda. One senior EU official gleefully claimed that Theresa May has “lost control over her own government”,

I may have misunderstood what was going on, but can anyone remember what Brexit was supposed to consist of? I for one seem no longer able to remember what it was all about.

Perhaps the Government is employing a WMD
(Weapon of Mass Delusion) to kill it off?

here is a classic example of Fake News being used as Propaganda
"
Brexit secretary David Davis FORCED to concede UK will bow down to EU's KEY demand
DAVID DAVIS was forced to concede Britain will adhere to European Union demands not to discuss a free trade deal before the issues of the bloc’s Brexit divorce bill.

It isn't an EU demand it is part of the membership rules we agreed to
