Many years ago, when I had a temporary job in a hospital.

A man arrived in A&E with a glass jar up his rectum. He claimed that he had been driving and thought he had diarrhoea so put the jar under his bum to prevent messing the seat. Then drove over a bump. Have no idea whether this is true, or not.

He was sent to theatre for it to be removed. Which they did. Following protocol, it was sent on to the path lab for analysis. In due time, the report arrived:

There is nothing wrong with swimming in the sea. I always swim 1 mile straight out to and then back in again whenever I visit the coast. The sea conditions must be right though.

I'm not keen on swimming in lakes, too much rat ****.

I have not yet found any definitve, properly researched, information about swimming in freshwater lakes. Given the obvious possibility that others swimming in the same body of water might be infectious, I'd be at the least cautious.

You can employ a random cleaner who can quite legitimately enter you home, completely untested, and spend a couple of hours there, but you can't have your parents or children in the house, you must meet them one at a time in a park. A teacher can sit for 8 hours in a room full of children from a multitude of different addresses and an even greater multitude of different contact lines, but if the same teacher wants to see their grand children, they must see them one at a time, again in a park or similar setting.

Perhaps the answer is to employ your relatives as cleaners and have them all round. But book your ventilator equipped hospital bed before doing so!

Looks even worse when you consider that there are lots of people where only one of a couple drive (whether by choice or due to health issues). So grandfather (say) drives to park, sees offspring, then drives home, picks up grandmother, drives back to park and waits while she goes to see same offspring.
