i did a week in hospital last year i had to go home as id starve to death it is steamed slop time you get it and stone cold.

and after all the blood tests they done and the blood transfusions with 6 b12 injections i asked for they still dont know what went wrong as looked like id need a bone marrow transplant and not even a letter since.

The USA has long held strategic reserves - of petroleum, helium, uranium (though authority for that expired) - and other countries did similarly with what they thought essential.
Pandemics produce very odd requirement patterns and availability of materials and manufacturing capabilities are, now very obviously, fundamental requirements.
If you needed 6 B12 injections, that sounds like loading doses. After which you should continue to receive regular injections. Usual (inadequate) frequency is three months.
