If true, this will be extraordinarily damning. Does the government really want SNP and PC to increase their votes - massively?

As the Daily Record reports, a firm called Gompels, which makes PPE (personal protective equipment), has got a notice on its website saying that it can only sell certain items, like surgical masks and aprons, to customers in England. It says:

Gompels are helping the Covid-19 response by distributing this product on behalf of Public Health England to ensure that essential supplies get to care homes and domiciliary care providers. As such this product has a number of restrictions on who can purchase it.
You must be registered and operating within England - apologies to Wales and Scotland, we are told you have different processes for getting emergency supplies
You need to be a Care Home or Domiciliary Care Agency
These restrictions are not something we have decided, they are a criteria given to us by Public Health England.
We have been told that there are alternative arrangements in place for Wales and Scotland, but we have not been able to find out what they are. Please do not think this is us discriminating against our lovely and loyal Welsh and Scottish customers.

This will fuel claims that, contrary to assurances from No 10, Scottish organisations trying to buy PPE are at a disadvantaged compared to their English counterparts.

There's one big problem with wearing masks, take what I have as an example. I should point out at the offset I'm a keen DIY'er I also have a lot of hobbies/crafts I turn my hands to that involve chemicals, sprays, paints and other noxious substances that give off toxic fumes, hence I already have a large stock of masks & gloves which is the norm for me. So masks.. I believe I have three or four kinds ranging from simple cloth type to high end kinds with replaceable filters. That kind usually come with documentation indicating particulate absorption and whatever.
So what would any government recommended ? You could spend hundreds on protective breathing equ and of course there's no guarantee of anything. If they say wear this type only and you catch the dreaded pox who can you blame...they said it was alright and they let you down again.
I think the best thing if you have to go out or feel you really must, then wear whatever you feel ok with. Whatever you stick on your boat race make you look a pillock anyway plus bugger's up face recognition camera's :)

Only 1.4% of firms that have inquired about the coronavirus Government loans have been successful. @EddieMair asks: Is this your experience? What does your business need in this time? https://pic.twitter.com/xzDbdg5qMx

Johnson government assessed EU PPE procurement scheme as inadequate, despite partaking in meetings https://theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/therese-coffey-lbc-radio-eu-ppe-procurement-scheme-1-6606962…

To be fair to them, when it comes to being experts in inadequacy, if it wasn't for the towering stupidity of Trump, the UK Government would finally lead the world in something, which would be remarkable, as it would be the first notable success they can chalk up

I offered my old disused underwear and socks for possible repurposing as face masks but was told they were not to spec. A bit odd because when I placed a pair of old Y Fronts over my head and across my face people gave me a wide berth, crossing the road if fact. I wonder if I've hit on something here ?
On the subject of under garment use,

Be careful when you`re using your wife`s Bra and use the Left cup only...

you don`t want to make a right tit of yourself

As they said on TV today your best mask is your own front door. Unless you wear a complete biological isolation garment(BIG suit) you take a risk as soon as you step outside, that's why myself & partner locked down almost 7 weeks ago when Boris was shaking hands with destiny.
Wrong word, try these "fickle fate"

Them weasels is ever so busy making their words. Deliberate mis-interpretation of thw question so that he thinks he comes up smelling of roses. Do you remember collecting rose petals and mashing them up with water to make perfume? And wondering how they produce something quite as vile smelling and fetid after a week or two in a warm shed?

Q: One thing that might make the economy even worse is a no-deal Brexit. So why is that still an option?
Sunak says the UK has left the EU with a deal. The government is committed to getting a trade deal with the EU. He says Michel Barnier and David Frost have discussed how the talks can continue. He is confident that those talks can reach a conclusion.

If I have got this right, a new ventilator design works, has been approved by MHRA and is being manufactured. But was not one that the UK government thought to order in their thousands.

A ventilator made in Wales that could potentially save thousands of lives has now been approved by the UK Government.

The emergency ventilator – a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine – was deigned last month by Dr Rhys Thomas at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen and CR Clarke & Co in Betws, near Ammanford.

The device had already been given the go-ahead by the Welsh Government and was even used within days of its design to treat a patient in Llanelli who had tested positive for coronavirus.

It has now been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care that is responsible for regulating all medicines and medical devices used in the UK.

This means the device, which came to fruition after Dr Thomas sought advice from colleagues treating Covid-19 patients in Bergamo, Italy, will now undergo clinical trials in the hope that hundreds of the machines can be made every day and then used used in hospitals not only in Wales but across the UK.

I’m looking forward to the government rolling out the digital Leper’s Bell. Sorry, I mean contact tracing app for mobile phones. It’ll be. FU, guaranteed.
There is much craziness in that area.

If they fail to convince us that it doesn't do things we might not want it to, people won't install it. Even if somehow it became compulsory, and I can't see that happening, people would switch their phones off, at least when they might be doing something they shouldn't. Which will make huge holes.

The police will screw it up. They will be smashing your front door down, breaking your best china and stunning your children with a taser if the app shows you have been out of the house > 61 minutes in any 24 hour period.

And of course by the end of May the Media will have been directed to convince the public the "Cummings Cull" is vital to the success of No deal Brexit, and what are a few more thousand casualties anyway? lockdown is boring, they are better off dying among friends
