These are the actual words of the Norton Chief executive
"Speaking about the collapse of the company, Norton chief executive Stuart Garner said it had “become increasingly difficult to manufacture in the UK, with a growing tax burden and ongoing uncertainties over Brexit affecting many things like, tariffs, exports and availability of funding.” "

Sorry resident troll , to urinate on your bonfire.

the company my son works for in the City stops hiring while waiting to see what BJ comes up with. It's the first time in their history that they come to this decision and it's not just one company in the city.

Further to the passport fun, I have found the original

Unbelievable one of the benefits of Brexit
The press will say "It's an EU plot! the passports are printed in FRANCE!"
Forgetting that we don't need their help (thank you very much) to make ourselves an international laughing stock.
Boris was elected to do that for us.
And in that respect he's second only to that other American, Trump.

Certain Irony

And only four years ago then Chancellor George Osbourne .. had said... “...let’s work with Norton because it is a company that epitomises everything about what’s happening now in British manufacturing.

From forum posts there was a question just before the firm collapsed on quality control as chrome painted finish on the £28,000 V4 RR (they only shipped 70 prior to going into Administration) on a delivered bike was poorly finished, with fingerprints in paint etc. and told when he complained "it was race paint finish not showroom finish” - 7 days after delivery firm collapsed.

Fancy one of the New passports?
https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/express-blue-passports-and-monty-python-reference-1-6480394

There was some surprise when the newspaper ran a story with a photograph of one of those 'iconic' passports - with the wrong wording on it.

Placed alongside an existing burgundy passport with the 'European Union' messaging on it, the Brexiteers' version had the message 'your mother was a hamster'.

Brexit: the comedy continues, it seems Borisitis (Ability to cock up everything) has smitten the right wing press too.
Alas the picture has been withdrawn
However here it is, enjoy.

What I love about the internet is that you can't "unthink" something that has happened
Don't you love the way the "iconic" blue seems to have changed substantially ( and not just on cock up mock ups)?

Did someone say Brexit would be bad for Nissan workers?
You should have read it through, Nissan have denied it*. They maintain that tariffs threaten the whole of their UK and mainland European market. What that means is that in the event of tariffs between the UK and theEU, they will do what Honda have already done, completely shut down manufacturing in the UK and sell direct from Japan.

That is now more viable under the new EU-Japan trade deal on cars which leads to zero tariffs. We of course won't benefit now we've left the EU, another own goal.

* The automaker denied the existence of the contingency plans, according to a spokesman for Nissan Europe quoted by the Financial Times. “We’ve modelled every possible ramification of Brexit and the fact remains that our entire business both in the U.K. and in Europe is not sustainable in the event of WTO tariffs,” he said.

It's all the fault of the French printer using none Toxic blue to comply with EU regulations, don't y'know?
But they could have got it slightly closer to EU flag colour, couldn't they?

Just to help:
Pantone Reflex Blue corresponds in the web-palette colour RGB:0/0/153 (hexadecimal: 000099)

The last major redesign of our passport took place around 2015. Excellent timing...

Now we know, or rather we don't

Dominic Raab unable to say who is charge of Brexit now

Quite right! but I know......

Dominic Cummings
From that link:

The prime minister has denied he is trying to ban the word Brexit from its day-to-day business of government, but says now it's "over" there is no need to mention it.

That really sounds like "Don't mention the war."

(The reality being my entire life has been spent with people round me mentioning the war again and again. If not WWII, then WWI or Boer, or Falklands,...)

Read and try to understand the words. They had a growing tax burden because they didn't pay their taxes, not because of Brexit. The business never made a profit. He had to make excuses for why his business failed. What would you expect him to say? Maybe something like, "We chose the wrong type of product to make", " We didn't realise that it's so hard to make a profit when you make a niche product" or " We managed the few resources we had badly". I can't ever remember a failed business owner actually saying anything like that. Instead, it's the economic climate, the bankers, the government, the customers or anything else but themselves and their ideas.

If you knew anything about manufacturing, you'd know that it takes massive investment to launch a new brand of something like a motorcycle. Norton was always little more than a few enthusiasts working in a shed on a shoestring, hoping that a large investor would come along one day and make their dream come true. That didn't happen, though there's still a glimmer of hope for the project.

You're suffering from BDS. You're completely unbalanced. Look back at your posts in this thread. Every post you make is negative. Not one negative prediction that you've made has come true. You spend all your time searching for things to get enranged about. That's not healthy!

Yet another former minister weighs in against BJ:

Voters should not trust Boris Johnson to keep promises, says former Tory minister sacked from COP 26 role - live news
Great story. Guy gets sacked, so he says his boss is a bad person. Is that newsworthy?

Only if you're suffering from BDS. For balanced thinking people, "No need to mention it", isn't the same as "Don't mention it".

I think that what you've got must be similar to OG. You're brain is not interpreting what you're reading in the correct way. You're seeing all these things in a negative light and getting yourself enraged to the point that you have to tell everyone else and make yourself look silly.

This seems a little petty. Why couldn't they wait until they make a permanent arrangement/agreement.
I did not intend re-entering the debate. But you need to understand what a Constitution is. Essentially these countries CANNOT extradite without breaking the most fundamental of their laws..It is that simple.
